Good chain pub with an interesting and well cooked menu. Wide beer choice. Cheerful staff, clean, tidy and well organised. Good value for the area. Didn’t like the bottled water already provided on the table without clear labelling that it was charged for.

28 golfers came for a BBQ lunch.
Most of us had arrived by 13:30 as booked. There was no sign of the BBQ in the garden so presumably our food was cooked in the kitchen. When it did come, the food was very good but it didn’t appear until after 14:30 - a long wait while other pub customers in the garden were being served, we were told.
Otherwise I would have given 5 stars.

We held a wake at the Three Horseshoes and were really very happy that we chose there. It was a nice relaxed venue, the food was delicious and everyone was so helpful. We were able to use the side dining area and seating by the fireplace so had plenty of space for guests. The buffet was really good quality, good value for money, and the staff were very quick and friendly with any drinks. It was a beautiful sunny day and we later spent some time also in the lovely garden. Would definitely recommend!

A Masterclass in How to Lose Regulars, £10 at a Time

Booked a table at The Three Horseshoes in Worldham with the noble intention of a relaxed Sunday roast and some decent pub grub. A £10-per-head deposit was requested — presumably to secure our spot in what we imagined would be a bustling gastro haven. Spoiler: it wasn’t. The place was emptier than a politician’s promise.

Due to a last-minute illness, our group of four became three. We requested the deposit be taken off of the final bill, despite spending just shy of £100 on food and drinks (for three people, mind), the request was met with all the warmth and flexibility of a traffic warden. I was told in no uncertain terms that the tenner was non-refundable — apparently vital funds to cover the staff and food needed for our absent fourth diner – no really, this was the explanation.

Cue a ten-minute debate at the bar, where I had the distinct pleasure of being spoken to as if I were back in school. Eventually, after a dressing down from the manager and I suspect her realisation of how ridiculous this was, she agreed — whilst storming off — not to withhold the full deposit. A truly charitable act.

The garden? Lovely. The roast? Passable, though the "duo" element was so indistinguishable I began to suspect I’d been served two shades of mystery meat. Not quite the culinary showcase I’d hoped for.

If you enjoy paying deposits to dine in empty pubs, being gaslit over lamb and pork, and receiving customer service with all the charm of a damp tea towel — then you’ll absolutely adore The Three Horseshoes.

Otherwise, take your hard-earned tenner and head to The White Hart in Holybourne — a place that somehow manages to be actually busy, charmingly efficient, and refreshingly free of deposit drama.

This was honestly one of the best pub meals I have had in ages (fish pie) and how refreshing to have a menu with some traditional dishes and lots of variety without trying to be pretentious!|The service was really friendly and I was impressed at every level. So much so, that I’m taking another friend there this week!

We held a wake here and were really impressed. The buffet food was lovely, everyone was very helpful and the venue was a great place for guests to relax and mingle. The pub garden was also lovely on a rare sunny day in March.

Beautiful spot, sun in the garden until almost sunset. Food was excellent, trad menu but done immaculately. Campervan welcome in the car park. Road fairly quiet in the night.
