Visited the pub today, the food is always delicious. The setting by the river is stunning and there is always a friendly atmosphere.
Today we brought friends with us, expecting a nice warm cosy pub, as the weather is currently so cold. Unfortunately it was freezing inside, everyone was shivering. We asked why there was no heating? Only to be informed that it was on but takes a while to heat up. When we left we felt the radiators and found them to be completely cold. There was also an unlit fire. I’m sorry but we did not expect to eat our meal in freezing cold temperatures, it ruined our time there. Such a shame.

A wonderful place to stay. ||We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay at The Three Pickerels and will definitely be returning. ||We received such a warm welcome from Josh who booked us in and showed us to our room which was stylish, modern, cosy, comfortable and super clean. It had all the amenities we needed. |Later we dined in the hotel and once again were impressed by the warm welcome from Aaron. |The food was excellent as was the service and ambiance of the restaurant where once again Josh was politeness itself. |Breakfast the following morning was delicious and when it was time to go we wished we’d booked another night. |Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making our stay so enjoyable.

It has been more than 20 years since I last had lunch at this restaurant, so was more than happy to eat Sunday Lunch either a family member.
I chose the classic Beef Sunday lunch with a dessert 2 courses. I was very impressed with the presentation and the high quality of the Sunday Roast, everything was cooked to perfection, the gravy flavour and consistency was first class. The large low profile white plate was an excellent choice made it so easy to eat from the plate. The quality and quantity was excellent and the beef was cooked to perfection (pink in the middle). We had a table looking over the river, very nice. The dessert Sticky Toffee Pudding with custard was ample portion and very hot in temperature absolutely delicious.
Do I have any improvement points, yes just two very small points.
1: Try to have the plate heated to a higher temperature than your normal do, this will keep the delicious food longer warmer on the plate for slower eaters like myself.
2: If possible add some sound proofing in the atrium I felt with a full house very cosy but very loud when everyone is pleasantly chatting the sound bouncing off the ceiling.

I highly recommend this high quality restaurant I will be returning very soon within a month, with other family members so they may also enjoy this fine dining at a reasonable price.
Based on the restaurant being so good, I can only assume the hotel is equally as good.

There were seven adults and a lively two year old having dinner in the restaurant last night. The staff, service and attentiveness was excellent. The food was absolutely delicious. Varied choices throughout the menu and everything was perfect. The portions were large and whilst most of our party managed to devour every morsel, some just could not do so. The cost was very reasonable for the quality of food and service we received.
Thank you to all the staff. A very special evening for us.

Went for a family Dinner to celebrate my mums 80th. It was cold where we sat. We ordered at 6.10 The food took nearly an hour to turn up. The mashed potato was lumpy, the onion jam had hard gritty bits in and the gravy was so thin that when the waitress placed the bowl in front of my daughter, it slopped over the side and nearly splashed her uncle. And there wasn't much of it.
For the prices charged I would of expected better and maybe some child friendly dishes.

This has to be one of the nicest hotels we have stayed at in many a year. We arrived 2 hours early and were given key to the room and a very nice young lady showed us the way and explained the facilities. |The evening meals were excellent, portions very good and excellent quality food and drink, the lad who served us was pleasant and always smiling.|Lovely nights sleep was followed by a super english breakfast and real coffee. |What a way to finish the stay. We had a walk around the grounds and it is plain to see the grounds have been lovingly tendered with great furniture etc. |We will be back.

We had originally planned to have lunch at Ely but the waterside pub menus seemed dominated by chips and all things that go with chips. So, we drove 15minutes or so to the 3 Pickerels, and I’m so glad we did. An excellent location with plenty of seating options. It was a warm day so we sat on the terrace overlooking the river. From walking through the door until our departure, all of the staff were very friendly and efficient. An excellent (relatively) local beer and some good menu options. The baked cod was spot on. They have obviously invested a lot in this place and so the prices are a bit higher that some other “pubs” …….but the quality of the food, drinks, and service more than justify this. Highly Recommended.

We Had a lovely roast beef dinner here today. Nice pub, and friendly attentive staff. Shame was passing through, but would highly recommend.
