Myself & my family booked a table for 10 of us to have a 3 course Christmas Day meal. Myself & a few other family members were left feeling very disappointed with the whole experience! |The food was only just warm, there were 2 waiters trying to run the whole restaurant, which clearly was difficult.|I had asked twice to order some drinks, but was told I had to wait. Nobody knew what you had to do, order at main bar or wait. Then when I’d eventually ordered my destert, you could barely see it on the plate it was so small, but also it was clearly burnt, it tasted charred & was rock hard! I did mention it to the waiter, but because they were so busy they didn’t seem bothered about all the issues. It ruined my day & it cost £50 per person. I would never go back to the hotel…..it was a shamble

Sunday lunch buffet. Nice food but none of the dishes were labelled. Waiters could be more attentive, they just seemed to hover. Had to call them over for drinks and desert menue. Not once we're we ask if the food was OK.

We did not enjoy our stay here.
Troubles with the door locks.
The bathroom fan didn't work. This made the entire room very humid after showering.
Towel drier didn't work.
The rooms were never cleaned during the 3 nights we spent here.
Breakfast was rather disappointing.
Staff seemed indifferent about us being there.
The beds were rock hard, and you could feel the springs on your back.

Me and my family wont be coming back here.

Pub and the restaurant was nice though.

The room was massively outdated. They really make it look nice on the pictures but I feel like I was living in the 1960's.
I had the first room as soon as you come up the stairs. The stairs can be taken by anyone in the pub or restaurant, so as a woman travelling on her own, I was really scared and uncomfortable that someone could easily come to my room and try and get in.

The bathroom had black mould on the ceiling. The carpet had black marks where there must've been water build up.

Breakfast isn't served till 8:30am which is too late as I had to meet a friend for the half marathon this weekend.

This room was NOT worth £80. Never again.

When we arrived there was no one at the check-in. The bar man got me the room key out of a plastic takeaway tub. He said room 5 up the stairs. When I got to the room the cleaner was drying towels on our radiator. Room 5 was clean but needs a lot of work done. Carpet was badly worn and u had to slam the door to shut it.|No bath mats were in the bathroom resulting in me slipping over on the tiles hurting my back and head. |Breakfast was shocking, 1 piece of Turkey bacon, 2 wrinkled chicken sausages, 1 tiny piece of tomato, egg and toast.|We paid £103 for this room I would rather stay in a tent.

This 'hotel' is an absolute disgrace. Booked one night through Booking.com. Received phishing emails and a strange phone call about payment beforehand - this should have been my warning! On arrival we decided immediately that we just couldn't stay and had to book elsewhere because the room was not fit for sleeping in. It was unclean, mouldy, had old and broken fittings, stains and hairs, smelt of a stale pub, not secure etc etc - in short it was absolutely disgusting, as was the rest of the hotel. In all my years travelling all over the world I have never been offered a room so vile. Staff were inattentive and rude. No explanation, refund or attempts to solve the issue when I explained we wouldn't be staying, just told the manager wasn't in. I'm definitely taking this matter further as I see from previous reviews that this has happened numerous times to other guests and no refunds are ever given. How can this be allowed? Their online photos are not true to the reality of the property. Their reputation /rating is purely based on inaccurate photos and reviews about their restaurant and bar, as far as I can tell. I urge you to check the lowest rated reviews (I wish I had!) There are so many stating exactly the same as me! Then avoid this dreadful place like the plague.
