We have been to this Lodge before and the present experience was felt to be even better than before. From getting in and parking to find somewhere to sit and have a drink on a hot day was catered for immediately.||The room was ready, clean and well appointed. It was possible to get a drink served very quickly even though staff were busy with quite large numbers. ||Nothing seemed to too much trouble and you were attended to at once no matter how many quests were present.||When it came to ordering food, again we were attended to very quickly. ||All the staff are local, friendly and appear to be enjoying their job.||A number of the larger hotels and other establishments could learn a lot from this comparatively small rural establishment.

I have been at this restaurant many times, and it was usually a great experience. However the last one was ruined at the end. Our servers were great, but another waitress had a rude and insulting manner of telling us to leave. It was embarrassing and felt like we were being kicked out of the restaurant. The meal was £170. Made a complaint, but apparently it is over the top and exaggerated. It was not. Food was tasty.

Two recent visits for tea and the food,service was excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed all courses and prices v good too.
Made to feel very welcome indeed and the location by the canal couldn't be better.
Definitely go again 😄. Thanks to all the staff

Very enjoyable had private party for 70th birthdays with a trip up the canal to Glos and back, two nights in the hotel, and lovely meal in the evening. Very simple yet very relaxing. No complaints. Would certainly recommend. Also would certainly recommend Keith and Sonia’s boat hire.||Party of 8

Filthy, the toilets the outside area on the floor and tables left with empty plates and glasses everywhere. Staff were rude and wouldn’t serve us food at 8:20 pm on a Saturday night.

Had a couple of meals here. Really friendly and professional staff. Food is lovely. Definitely worth a visit. We’ve had dinner and Sunday lunch menu, both times the food has been amazing.

We would highly recommend this hotel. On our arrival at the lodge, we had a warm greeting at reception. Our room was lovely, it was beautifully furnished and the attention to detail was spot on. The food in the pub was good, the Steak and Ale pie needs a special mention, it was delicious and the wine was sensibly priced. The location to the Wetlands center and the canal brilliant.
