Came to Ripon for the Horseracing and stayed here for two nights. There is parking out the back but quite hard to find and limited (have to go through sainsburys car park to a little service road) We parked in Sainburys Car Park which was reasonable at £2.50 per day. Its a lovely old building so there is no lift and expect creaky floorboards ! We stayed in Room 104 on the first floor. Our room was spacious, clean and had a lovely comfortable bed and pillows. There isnt any air conditioning in the room but they supplied a fan which was handy. It was well equipt with free tea (Not Yorkshire tea though which is a shame) and coffee, biscuits, hairdryer, shower gel. Ripon is a lovely quaint town but its worth noting that there is a Town Hall Clock which chimes every fifteen minutes, through the night too which we could hear from our room. Not good if you are a light sleeper! Other rooms might be further away. There is a free courtesy bus to the races from the town centre which leaves from the car park but the walk is only 20 minutes along the canal. Ripon Races is a lovely, pretty course and well worth a visit.|The pub in underneath was handy for meals. Standard Wetherspoon food which is good value and was absolutely fine, although a little cold by the time it arrived at our table and the eggs were overdone. Cracking little butchers next door with gorgeous pastries. All in all a lovely stay, we will be returning.

Can't recommend enough. Stopped to have dinner and found service from staff great. The meals came quickly and was hot. You pay for one cup of tea then refill as much as you want. We certainly will go again and excellent value for money, especially if you have children or on budget

Called in for lunch and drinks yesterday.
The overall look of the place was very disappointing inside. Everything looked and felt grubby.
The bar staff were very busy but did an excellent job of serving everyone as quickly as possible.
The food was not up to usual standards. The ham looked and tasted like wafer thin ham from a supermarket and the fish was just mostly batter.
We love going into the different Wetherspoons when we visit new places but this one was a big disappointment.

Lovely little square if you fancy a couple of night away. Hotel was nice the service was friendly, the food was as good as far as Wetherspoon food goes. No complaints at all.
The only problem was I left my jacket which found, however they won’t post it back to me despite having my name and address (from the room booking) I even offered to pay postage!. Go figure!!

Wifi doesn’t work at all in either of our rooms. Mattresses quite hard and pillows very hard - luckily I brought my own. My room was at the back and over the beer garden so had to keep windows closed even though it was very warm. I was told that though there might be noise it would be quiet after 10pm, but they were still going full throttle at 11.30pm. Rooms clean and shower pretty good. Main attraction was price and location. Wouldn’t rush back.

Lovely building, great staff. Out door seating area, very reasonably priced. Everything you would want for a short stay in Ripon.
It's in a good location, with cathedral and town.
Everywhere is clean and tidy.

We went for the famous value of a JDW breakfast and were very happy with our decision. Food was faultless: well-presented, tasty. We had an extra coffee as well.

Staff were, as usual at JDW, a bit stretched though polite etc. The site isn't well arranged for outside space and smoking.

Stayed in a family room. Clean and tidy. Bed comfy and room was quiet at night. |The temperature of the water was not really hot enough and the water pressure was low. |Great location on the square. Cheap parking at yhe rear of the hotel.|Value for money and would stay again.
