Went for the weekend, never been to Sidmouth before. What a lovely hotel in a charming town. We had a great sea-view room, well equipped and spacious. Hotel is a bit of a step back in time, nice wood panelling and fresh flowers and comfortable arm chairs. Great breakfast served by friendly pleasant staff. Very nice table d hote menu with canapes in the bar before and choclates with coffee in the lounge afterwards. There is a old Rolls Royce outside the front door and Ray the excellent doorman will find you a parking space!

Very enjoyable stay at the Victoria, the service received was very good. The staff were all very friendly & accommodating, the concierge was particularly friendly & helpful. The hotel guests were mainly retired people but that did not deter from our enjoyment. The room we stayed in was good, although a little cramped as unable to fully retract chair from dressing table due to bed end which then effectively blocked the 'flow' of the room. ||Sadly our stay was not long enough to enjoy all the facilities - will have to come again.

I was travelling long distance with my electric car for the first time. The hotel was having trouble with their Smappee chargers, but Paul the manager worked with me tirelessly to make sure the problem was sorted. Ray the doorman also constantly helping. I stayed in a small double (202) with a balcony, and the room was gorgeous, the bed incredibly comfortable. I ate in the lounge, a gorgeous salad. I swam by myself in the beautiful spa, bit sad that the outdoor pool had just been closed for the season, but very understandable.

Our group of 18 members from Soroptimist International Poole Purbeck and District and Soroptimist International Plymouth enjoyed an excellent Sunday lunch. The choice was excellent - it was great to see such an extensive vegan menu - and the food both beautifully presented and beautifully cooked. Excellent, attentive service and lovely dining room. Thank you.||The only hiccough was the invoice/payment. The member of staff who dealt with this didn't check whether we were paying as a group or individually, and wasn't aware that we'd paid a deposit. Fortunately, she rectified both issues swiftly.||We look forward to dining at The Victoria again in 2025.

Enjoyable stay at the Victoria, the service received was very good, especially from the younger staff. The hotel guests were mainly retired people. The room we stayed in was satisfactory but not great as some grouting and silicone areas in the bathroom were mouldy, and bed and pillows were too firm.
Food was good in Jubilee restaurant but uncomfortably cramped as tables too close together. Outdoor pool nice but clearly was getting ready for season end as no staff around and bar closed. There was no flow to the spa facilities, it all seemed jumbled up, toilets one end, only one mens changing room, no shower for sauna.
We paid 40% off full price for our stay and we would have been disappointed if we paid anymore. Drinks and sandwiches are very expensive. The flowers around the hotel are very nice and we enjoyed reading all the free magazines, I'm going to be generous and give 4 stars. If you are thinking of booking then watch the room prices as they vary greatly every day.

Hotel very clean and tidy. The room was very spacious and had a balcony with a table and chairs for sit out to enjoy the view. Lovely spa to enjoy when staying at this hotel. Restaurant very good and service very efficient.

Very nice hotel. Friendly staff good service and clean comfortable rooms.||The room radiators didn't work but a heater was provided and this was adequate and kept us nice and warm.||One minor problem was that the Chef apparently refuses to make custard and to those of us from the midlands this is quite a significant failure. Also they need to get some decent biscuits to go with the cheese.||Will certainly go back

Reading a post that was very negative to the Victoria, i felt the need to address the negativity the reviewer gave. It is sad that because a portion of the guests are indeed elderly, it shouldn’t be a negative. They have also been young and carefree in their day. We have been there countless times and never notice these guests being a problem, in fact they are elegant people. I haven’t yet seen the new spa, that will bring in a younger clientele. If this hotel is in your price range don’t hesitate as the staff and food is great. Sadly the prices have risen due to I suspect the spa and so won’t be able visit as many times in future. We have had wonderful there and envy guests there now, wish we were there. Top hotel and staff
