Wow! What an exceptional find! From the warm welcome onwards, everything was superb. The owners are both welcoming and have instilled a warm atmosphere not only in the whole place, but also with their staff too. Our room was very clean, comfortable and warm, with lovely views and a nice seating area too. Even more exceptional was the way my wife's requirement for gluten free vegetarian food was not just accommodated, but welcomed with the chef designing several options for starter, main and dessert. As the owner said, as they create all their food from the raw ingedients, it is easy to produce the options (some allegedly "better" establishments should take note!). All meals, both breakfasts and dinners, were delicious and extremely well cooked, no soggy veg! There were plenty of options, including some interesting specials. Thank you for a lovely stay, and we will be back!

Stayed here for one night (room 2) and found the welcome warm and friendly. The room is large and clean with fresh milk for your tea or coffee which is a bonus these days. ||Hot water was great for my bath and the towels soft and of good quality. Bed was nice and soft, with no issues. ||The only sight issue would be the balcony, needs refreshing but overall I would return and would highly recommend a visit, well done. πŸ‘πŸ»

This is a lovely room, set in tranquil and beautiful setting. The family that owned it were lovely and did whatever they could for us. The log fire was fantasic to sit next to as we ate a meal that competed with the 5 star buxton crescent we were at the night before. Breakfast in the morning was equally as good, the chef made me poached, scrambled and fried eggs (my request) all perfect. We felt well looked after and valued as customers. The decor/atmosphere in the pub was the only thing I thought could be improved but nothing that will prevent us from coming back again!

Stayed here for one night, it stood out as the rooms are separate suits with their own space and balcony.
Room was very comfortable, nice firm bed. It’s a really peaceful location, all you hear is the birds.
We ate in the restaurant at night, really nice food. We both had fish dishes and they were cooked to a very high standard.
Breakfast again was very nice and a great end to the trip.
Staff were really friendly throughout our stay, nothing felt too much trouble to ask.

Spacious and modern suite. With fridge and table with outside space with table and chairs.. fabulous view of hills. This a spacious block built separate from the restaurant with brilliant views.||The restaurant has a unique menu. Our choices were superb. Next morning we had an individual cooked to order breakfast. We’re already planning our next visit.

What a lovely place.. small country pub, with 8 amazing rooms to the rear overlooking the valley. The rooms are as good or even better than any 5star hotel. Spacious, lots of storage, very modern with a huge bathroom and really lovely vibe. Amazing terrace for a sunny day. Food in the pub great and service very efficient. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful one night stay at The View, we were so impressed as soon as we arrived as to how spacious, beautifully furnished and decorated our room was. We were lucky with the weather that evening and were able to relax and enjoy the fabulous view of the surrounding countryside. It was our wedding anniversary and we had a superb dinner in the restaurant, every course was delicious. All the staff we met were very friendly, welcoming and attentive. Breakfast the following morning was freshly cooked and very tasty with plenty of choices. The White Horse is in a great location, lovely and quiet, we slept really well, but not far from so many places of interest, Bakewell was only a short drive away as was Bolsover Castle and Hardwick Hall. We would thoroughly recommend The View at The White Horse and hope to stay there again.

Having stayed here several years you always wonder if things might have changed? Here we were delighted to see that the same quality, cleanliness, comfort and attention to detail has been maintained. This is credit to the owners and also their great staff. ||Our supper and breakfast was prepared with care, served by lovely staff (our evening server was a school teacher....just wish i'd had her when I was at school!) who helped out and had a wonderful sunny disposition. The presentation of the cooked breakfast was excellent. ||A very quiet room with a great comfy bed, linen and pillows made for a great nights sleep and also some enjoyable canoodling. The bathroom is vast and spotlessly clean. We woke to snow on the hills in the distance and had a leisurely breakfast. They even had a decent quantity of fresh milk in the fridge!||The owners take pride in their hospitality and it shows in everything they offer. We will return....
