We stayed at the village inn at the end of June for 3 days, it was the worst experience of my life, when we booked it we thought we were staying in the inn that was pictured but when we arrived we where took to the village inn express which is located up a close above the shops, it was also right across from another pub which is opened very late with loud music at the weekends. On our stay there the fire alarm went off at 1.30am which nobody came from the main village inn to investigate,so my partner had to get ready and go up to let the manageress know, she sent a worker down, he checked the rooms for the smell of smoke and decided that it was ok that someone must have sent the the alarm off by smoking and that was that, they turned off the fire alarm and did not adhere to there own fire plan which was in there manual. There were also other male guest walking about with there underwear on, the rooms were clean but did not get any sleep from the constant banging of other guests room doors. On our stay there was another guest left due to this as we would have done the same but were not able to at that time so had to stay and endure the experience.

we stayed at village express, which we origanaly thought was a hotel. What it actually is is a few rooms above the local bookmakers. there is a concrete stairwell that smells or urine that leads up to a door with an a4 piece of paper stuck to it, declaring it marys office. although mary was never there. in fact we had to call someone just to come and let us in as the door was locked upon arrival. after walking down a dark hallway with loose light fittings, we were directed to our room. the room was small, the toilet was 1 meter away from the pillows on the first bed (twin room) and althought there was a kettle and some coffee sachets that appeard to have been there for months, there was no milk, or any facilites to store milk. there appeard to be blood spatter on what was left of the wardrobe, and a huge stain of similar colour on the side of the bed. we would of left immideatly if all the hotels wernt fully booked. we decided to go out and spend as little time in the room as possible, so we went to use the shower. THERE WAS NO HOT WATER. i checked with another person staying in one of the rooms if they had hot water and they didnt. I obviously complained about this to 'mary', whos answer was oh we have just flicked a trip switch it will take half hour to warm up. needelss to say no hot water ever arrived even at next morning, which was after a noisy, uncomforatble night. I strongly urge anyone contemplating to stay here to find somewhere else. like under a bridge.

I booked this room on last minute. Com as it looked a nice a cosy place near a country pub. How wrong I was....The room id booked was a double with en suite what I got there double bed squeezed into room only slightly bigger than the bed no sign on an en suite. It didn't even have curtains up the were in a big pile on the next to the pole which was leant again the wall. The landlady attitude was awful and rude and when asked about the curtain replied it fell down earlier what can you do. Customer service at it best! I refused to stay in it a booked into the premier inn up the road My advice is don't ever ever ever stay here it's worst place ever ... Ps she avoiding giving me a refund

I offer some clarification for other people thinking of booking. The pub in the picture on Lloyds Road NN17 1AP and listed as the Village Inn is now called the New Inn. Owned by the same company is the Village Express, which is a number of rooms over a row of shops on The Jamb (post code; NN17 1AY). The Village Express is couple of minutes walk from the free parking available in the pub car park.||The Village Express presents as a door between a "bookies" and a chocolate shop on a road with parking restrictions. On my visit one of the bannisters had fallen off the wall and was laid along the edge of the stairs. The rooms are above the row of shops and there is a public house directly opposite.||We found the rooms to be clean and serviceable and, although small they were adequate. On arrival we collected the key from the New Inn but that was fine as it was arranged in advance.||On the negative side the building lacks any reasonable level of soundproofing so has the potential to be noisy depending on the other residents. There is an extractor or air conditioner somewhere behind the rooms from one of the shops so we found it too noisy during the night with the window open and with it shut the room got too hot. Overall it was adequate for the money and we would use it again but it wouldn't be our first choice.

I booked two rooms at the village inn at the begging of May through Expedia |I finished work on the Friday night and drove to Corby on arrival I was told the rooms where no longer available due to flooding as the saniflo toilet pipe had broke the manager was no help what so ever when we asked for another room he just said there was none available and wouldn't give me a refund as I booked through Expedia so my guests and I was stranded !!! in the end we booked in to the by far superior best western I'm still fighting for my money back from this dreadful place

Booked through Expedia .Turned up at hotel advised by a lady behind bar that she was not aware of any room bookings . So I asked if she could confirm with manager and she advised me she could not contact him as he was dealing with a family matter and was not to be contacted .She suggested I came back in a couple of hours and when I did she advised there where no rooms and it was Expedia at fault not them .Terrible lack of ownership spent the next four hours yes four hours on phone to Expedia but they could not refund me until they had contacted hotel so went round in circles as all telephone numbers online line is dead or not answered . In the end they have advised of refund even though they could not get hold of Hotel .Never again !

Please be very wary of booking this hotel ,when you phone to confirm your booking and are told everything is in hand.My 72 yr old mother tuned up after travelling on her own from Glasgow to be told they did not have her room, even when the staff member behind the bar counld confirm he had been chating with my mum 2 days before hand on the phone to make sure everything was in place.Shocking .
