We held our daughter’s wedding at the Waie Inn. What an incredible weekend. The owners and staff were so friendly and helpful making sure that the wedding and reception ran very smoothly. The private room for the reception was absolutely lovely with high ceilings and oak beams making it feel very special. The accommodation was fantastic and very well presented. It was also dog friendly which was a bonus for us. There was also great entertainment for the children with indoor and outdoor play areas. The great thing about the Waie Inn is that food and drink were reasonably priced and very tasty too. Would definitely recommend this place for any celebration not just a wedding.

Our second visit to the Waie Inn. On both occasions for a function and an extended stay by choice. Highly recommended. Family business and all the staff were very helpful, friendly and efficient. The accommodation - first time in a room, second in a cottage- was very clean and well appointed. The food, served up to nearly 90 people, was excellent, hot and complimented by all. In the pub, which is always bustling, there is an excellent choice and very reasonable prices. We’re looking forward to another visit next year.

We went to the restaurant as a couple and found that there was a good choice of reasonably priced dishes . Our meal was good together with the service and the general ambiance.|However we will not be returning as we discovered that this establishment hosts and actively encourages the local fox hunt.

Rude and dismissive staff when we raised an issue. Not a major one and could have been resolved so easily. Even an apology would have been a start but they refused to accept any responsibility for their site. Reading other reviews of groups of adults drinking alcohol and taking over the soft play whilst other people’s children played and this not being dealt with, suns this place up. Just be aware if you use the soft play, playgrounds or pool the pub will not acknowledge any issues

Food was lovely and a good portion size and good value for money. Destination is lovely But, not the most easiest or clever place to get to, as down a sharp turning down a steep hill and narrow country roads to get there which feels never ending. Typical Mid Devon out of the way and out of sight. They have a swimming pool which is lovely and almost like a nice retreat with a real country vibe. Would like it to have more selection of choice on the menu as is a bit limited which is a shame But, makes it easier on the staff. A bit laid back in that sense and no front of house or real leadership. They should be proud of this place, But, it feels more like a YMCA.

I have attended the waie inn 10 years in a row and it’s it perfect. Only negatives are the lack of internet and the tricky drive here. Other than that it’s perfect the staff have been very welcoming and helping us with our stay. The extra time they put into making the area better is stunning

Had high hopes but it was average, very dated (see pics) not easily accessible and the service wasn’t great (poor training perhaps?). When there, my partner and I heard about the illegal deer hunt and kill by the Eggesford Hunt that the Waie Inn allow on their land - this really spoilt it for us. Hopefully the police will investigate the illegal hunting. Such a shame, maybe the owners can work on improving accessibility, customer service along with supporting wildfire to thrive in the area and not be mutilated. Wouldn’t be a place I’d encourage people to visit after our experience.
