The welcome was warm, the room was lovely and comfy, clean and spacious but it was the food that did it for us! It was absolutely fantastic. We'll definitely be staying again, even though it's only just over an hour away from where we live, it was a very welcome and lovely break . Staff couldn't do enough for us.

We needed an overnight stay while collecting a car nearby, and The Walnut Tree Hotel was a perfect choice. The rooms were spacious, spotlessly clean, and had the fluffiest pillows I’ve ever come across in a hotel – such a treat!||We dined in the restaurant and were thoroughly impressed. The food was excellent, and the scotch egg starter was in a different class – absolutely delicious and a real highlight of the meal.||Breakfast the next morning was just as good, with plenty of choice and everything cooked to a high standard.||All in all, a comfortable and enjoyable stay with great food and lovely service. We’ll definitely stay here again if we’re in the area. Highly recommended!

We were given a lovely and spacious room at the end of the corridor. It was nice and quiet. The room has lots of storage space, rather wasted on us, as we were only staying for one night. It was great to have such a lot of space. They also have easy to use hangers in the wardrobes.||The bed was large, but a bit bouncier than our own and a bit softer, too. We had a good night sleep nonetheless.||It looks like the bathroom has been renovated. There was a nice large shower and no plastic shower curtains. Hurray!||The staff was very friendly and welcoming.||We had dinner there and the food was delicious. The service was also very good. The breakfast was hearty and lots of choices.||All in all, very nice and glad we chose to stay here again. Very happy to come again in the future.

We stayed for one night.. a lovely welcome from the reception/ bar staff/everything that needed to be done person. |Our room was spacious but tired , although the bathroom seemed to have been updated. Several cobwebs hung from the ceiling and the carpet needed replacing as it was badly stained. |There were also alot of cobwebs in the bar area!|Onto our restaurant booking for the evening. We arrived at our table some 5 minutes before time and waited and waited for someone to take our order..eventually a waiter came, took our order, only one of us wanted a starter, and still we waited for this to arrive. Another couple sat nearby eventually got their starters but after eating them they too waited for ages for their mains. Sadly after waiting for soo long for any of our food to appear we decided to go and dine elsewhere. Also based on this experience we decided not to have breakfast. All this rather spoilt our stay.

Very warm welcome from the staff and they couldn't do enough for us during the whole stay. The rooms are spacious and the beds very comfy, powerful shower and good complimentary toiletries. Breakfast was well cooked and a good selection of continental food. This is a good sized hotel and the staff do a great job.

I really enjoyed our stay. Sophie and Becky looked after me really well whilst I was waiting for my friends. The hotel was clean, nothing seemed too much trouble and the price was extremely reasonable. Would stay again without hesitation.

Well. What can we say. Very reasonably priced considering the fantasticly sized room. Even came with a bath as well as the shower. And the room even came with a trouser press, the 80s called and they want it back. My missus was born in the 70s and didn't realise things needed turning on at the wall too.

Breakfast was good, very good, however, if youre going to use a plate the size of a dustbin lid, maybe give 2 sausages and another rasher of bacon. Impressive range of pastries and juices. And to top it off, reception and breakfast is manned by very kind, friendly and helpful staff, they were more than happy to provide another bed sheet after the missus sharted and correctly blamed it on me. Even offering to change the sheets.

Overall a fantastic experience, enhanced even further by the staff member with serious Hannibal Lecture vibes, even offering fava beans and Chianti upon departure. And with being such horror film fans, we even stayed an extra night which was provided at the same rate as we'd paid for the previous 2 nights.

The only criticism of note, is the possibility of spiders joining us in bed as it must be said there were a few cobwebs in the room. Oh....and if you're used to a modern TV with YouTube and other modcons, bring a tablet or similar as the amount of times she asked me to pause the TV and rewind it. Apparently the menopause makes you forget what the decade is. Crazy people/person. Out

Final note - on the last day before we've left, the missus was feeling sick (caused by self) and the hotel were more than happy to accommodate by cooking her a breakfast for takeaway, allowing me to serve it to her in bed before we left. Again. Going above and beyond!!

A+

We needed a Hotel for one night close to an elderly parent in Bridgwater . North Petherton is a couple of miles out of Bridgwater and quieter . |The hotel has 34 rooms so not chaotic and noisy . Great welcome on arrival , spacious room on the first floor away from the road noise at the front . Clean well run hotel with very helpful friendly staff . |We ate an evening meal in the restaurant and again very friendly and attentive staff , good food at sensible prices . |Breakfast was also excellent. |Plenty of parking off road . |Thanks for an excellent stay |Trefor and Samantha
