Where do I start...||From the very moment I approached the property there was a bad feeling as the entrance isn’t very welcoming and the décor in the hallway is extremely dated. The welcome felt a bit disjointed as they didn’t seem to have a record of my booking, but once that was found I was shown to my room.||The poor décor continued up the stairs and just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse, I entered he bedroom which I think was last decorated in the 1970’s. From a cleanliness perspective, the bedding seemed clean enough but the bathroom looked as though it had last been cleaned a couple of weeks after the room was decorated (i.e. in the 1970s!!). ||The furniture in the bedroom was extremely old and worn and the general cleanliness in the room was poor. There was tea/coffee making facilities but the coffee on offer was a half full jar of Maxwell House!!||I didn’t dare risk have a shower as there was hair in the plug and I think I would have come out dirtier than before I stepped in there.||Noise wise, it’s on a main road and is very noisy. More could be done with the glazing to improve this and help you get a good nights sleep.||Overall, avoid this guest house!!!

We had to escape from a fraudulent landlady in Edinburgh, from whom we're probably not getting any money back. The senile lady here told us a night costs 150 £ and that the booking of the three nights we already paid in advance was for one person only and not for two . After some discussion she accepted 150 cash and without taxes. Travelling with my son of nine I had no choice. I bought a flight tomorrow and we'll leave this littered, overpriced country in decline a week earlier than planned. What a disappointment.
The place here hasn't seen renovation in decades , everything is shabby, broken. In Germany you could rent out such a mess only to homeless.its July and the heating is running hot and can't be turned off which is why the window to the noisy road has got to stay open all night. The breakfast was a nightmare: all the tables sticky, the coffee thin, the toast burned an so forth. The senior owners obviously don't hire somebody to take care of the facility while being incapable themselves except for when it comes to making money. The toilet vent is broken and the smell has to take it's way through the sleeping room.

A traditional guest house! Jimmy and his wife are very friendly and welcoming! Decor a little dated! The room was clean, comfortable and large. The Breakfast was tasty and ready exactly when I asked it to be! Needed to book in an emergency situation due to travel problems and was made to feel very welcome!

Close to town and motorway which is handy. Noisy traffic outside. Dirty room, dusty, bugs on the bed, dirty blinds, out of date plug on kettle, dirty mugs, not a good experience. Owner was friendly but lady who greeted me was rude and I had out of date jam with breakfast. Not worth the money I didn’t sleep at all!

I’m travelling round the UK attending games at all 92 league grounds and this is easily walkable to Brunton Park for anyone wanting to watch Carlisle United. A lovely stay, comfy bed, superb breakfast and a kind and welcoming host. I can definitely recommend.

We were due to check in on the 24th July 2021 for 3 nights. When we arrived and were shown the room (room 6) we were disgusted. The toilet and shower were dirty with mould around the shower tray. A big spider above the shower proved it had not been cleaned. Floor was dirty in bathroom. The bedding was very dated and the bed base was torn and stained. Pillow was stained. There were 3 single beds in the room, 2 were made up with dated not matching bedding. The 3rd bed was not made up and the duvet was torn and old. Carpet looked like something from the 1950’s. Inside the kettle was disgusting. The alcove in the corner was a makeshift wardrobe with old dirty blankets thrown on the floor and spare duvets on a shelf above. Inside the dated bedside cabinet, there were 2 empty pop can’s. If this room was inspected by health and hygiene it would close down the hotel. As a vulnerable disabled person, I could not stay in such a shabby, dirty room, especially after the COVID outbreak we’ve just had. We checked out immediately, and I told the owner why. He never challenged me when I said it was too dirty, so that says it all. I contacted booking.com and asked for a full refund. Booking.com contacted the Hotel and the owner told them to refund me to stop me moaning. Great customer service that is !!!!!

For £ 100/night I'd like a clean room. And not a woodlice in the bed, and toothpaste in the sink, and dirth coming from the showerdoor... I think this was the worst room I slept in, last holiday in England...
Outdated is fine, but it has to be clean.
The host was friendly, that's for sure.

DATED DECOR BUT BIG ENOUGH ROOMS AND SHOWERS.

We paid £45 each for two rooms, for two nights B&B, and we were happy enough with what we got.

The hosts are very welcoming and helpful. A good Full English breakfast is provided, and they added a sausage instead of the egg for my friend.

I'm a very big and fat man but the shower I had in room #4 was big enough.

The location is good for somewhere on the outskirts of Carlisle because there's a Brewers Fayre less than 5 minutes walk along Warwick Road, and a brilliant pub called the Magpie on the road leading off Warwick Road.

A new Lidl supermarket is being built opposite. Warwick Road is a bit noisy but if you want somewhere cheap by B&B standards, this is ideal.
