Went for Sunday lunch, choice of 4 meats and can select three for an extra pound. Lovely meal and dessert. Plenty of parking and lovely seating outside. Was made to feel welcome, would recommend to friends, will be going back.

Came here twice, had Sunday carvery, which was delicious. Hubby had banana split. 2nd visit, burger, chips salad, coleslaw and lambshank, creamy mash and veg, plus apple crumble and strawberry cheescske. Nice pot of coffee. All delicious. Friendly owner and staff. All home cooked food.

Dropped in for brunch while on a ride out on our motorbikes, and will definitely be back very soon.|A really great location on the A39 wirh plenty of parking at the back along with a great picnic area and super views over an extended garden( which we have been told is for camping - we'd definitely use it if we didn't live as close). The full English was superb; freshly cooked using local ingredients (you can certainly tell), hor and tasty with great coffee alongside.|We had a look at the gym ( incredibly well stocked!) a rather tempting hot tub, and the rooms look very comfortable - and they are dog friendly too 😀.|This is a perfect stop for not only food, but also accommodation of you want a handy location for both North Devon and North Cornwall. The hostess is so friendly and helpful, you cannot go wrong.|Oh, and she hosts bike nights on Tuesdays, with discounts on food for us bikers.|I'm a little in love with this traditional, well stocked, genuine pub/hotel!

Wow! What an unexpected suprise! Passed Many times but never been in. Really pleasant welcome by the landlord and good beer selection, something for all!
Stayed for the roast dinner and it kept coming! 3 meats and 8 veg! Great quality and the price point is very good.
They have way more facilities than expected, including camp site, health facilities hot tub pool table! All great, will put this on the regular pub stop! Many thanks!

We arrived at short notice booked on the way.

On arrival, the place was dark and empty. The lady who met us served us drinks (reluctantly) as she explained "I need an hours break, I do this 7 days a week", so we respected, and took our drinks to our room!

The bathroom in our room smelt of damp and full of cobwebs, though hey ho, I can clean. The room was also very cold.

We went for dinner and it was lovely (the food was good), though half hour after our meal, my partner went to order a drink and the lady asked "is this a night cap" (8.40pm).... we felt awkward and went to bed soon after.

Breakfast was lovely, though we felt like we were a hindrance (as we were the only people there), very nice but couldn't wait to leave. Very strange experience.

Though from previous reviewers, she will come back with an answer to correct us im sure... However, we wont be returning (it felt like 'bates hotel').

I don't normay leave reviews, but this place go me baffled.

Our tech company wanted to have a change from the normal lunchtime drinks of grey Bristol.., so we arranged a weekend somewhere a bit different. All agreed to take a drive along the North West cost. With no particular schedule in mind, we liked the idea of just going with the flow and enjoying the unknown time ahead .. Just as well we did, as our mini bus broke down before the Cornwall Border..
We walked into this lovely welcoming old style 16c public house and Inn.. ..
All we can say is that we were actually glad the bus broke down where it did.. ..Perfect Food, Laura saw our predicament and straight away made us feel welcome and genuinely concerned about our situation. She took it upon herself to fix up some homemade soup & warm bread out of hours and then checked us all into warm rooms. We ended up having a great stay, great hospitality, and great meals while waiting for recovery of the mini bus. 😀

Amazing and friendly a definite port in a storm. Last two storms we have ended up at this pub. Despite their own flood there was a great welcome. Great food and well worth a visit. The roast on a Sunday is superb and they have a good menu selection. Their guiness is superb
