Fantastic nights stay at a beautiful hotel/ pub. We stopped here for the night as we were flying from Newcastle the next day & we love Corbridge as a historical town. We booked a room with breakfast with previous owners & didnโ€™t know hotel was taken over by new owners only 5 weeks ago.|New owners contacted us to confirm booking & they were brilliant hosts. We arrived Saturday afternoon & parked car in public car park opposite hotel, thought we would have to pay to park car,( do not pay at machine) but got parking free when we checked into hotel. Met at reception by a charming & polite young man who checked us in. We were staying 1 night b&b in room 6, king size bed & beautiful big modern bath. Room was lovely & spotlessly clean. |Didnโ€™t eat dinner at hotel restaurant, as we were booked in the Valley Indian restaurant that night. Had a great nights sleep & went down for breakfast & what can I say: one of the best breakfast we have had. Choice was fantastic from continental to cooked options. You were not go hungry here.|New owners are doing a great job & we are definitely going back this year. |We highly recommend this place. Thanks again for a brilliant stay & made the start of our holiday memorable.

Have had a few meals here recently and all been excellent. On Saturday we thought we'd try a sandwich for lunch before setting off for a walk to Hexham. A nice surprise when I ordered a cheese and home roll, to find it was accompanied by home cooked chips, slaw and a generous side of fresh salad. It was beautiful. My wife ordered sandwiche of Haloumi and sweet chill. This was equally as good. Great value and in a nice comfortable setting. Service from waiter (Dylan) great as usual. George & Fiona.

Went in for food. The special of the day was home made chicken curry, extremely bland and not worth the costโ€ฆ the generic frozen/cooked fish and chips were โ€œokโ€. Lady serving was pleasant, place was clean from what we saw. Would we go back? Definitely not, bang average unfortunately.

Arrived at the Wheatsheaf late afternoon to a very pleasant welcome by the young man on duty and shown our lovely room which was nice, bright and spacious. We had a good meal and drinks in the bar along with our dog who was also made very welcome. Our bed was very comfortable and we had a good sleep however our only moan is that the heating went off at some point during the night and it was very cold especially the bathroom where there was only a net curtain on the window the freezing weather made it all the more uncomfortable we understand that being an old building that it was only single pane windows but a thick curtain would help along with making sure the heating remains on in such inclement weather conditions. We got sorted and went down for breakfast and again we had a lovely welcome by the same young man we had a delicious breakfast and checked out all prepared for the next leg of our journey through the snow. We will definitely stay at the Wheatsheaf again

Nice Sunday carvery. Service a little slow but I think that was down to not enough staff in restaurant area rather than anything else. Children's carvery good as they plate up for you and bring it over rather than having to juggle your own plate and theirs too. Meat nice and tender and veg cooked nicely.

DO NOT BOOK THIS PROPERTY AT BOOKING.COM. I booked this property for 6 of us to stay at this property on October 3rd of 2024. When we arrived at the hotel we were informed that the property had been sold. I had already been charged 237 pounds by booking.com. So we had to pay the property directly. I am now fighting with booking.com to get my money back. So I'm not sure what the problem is - is it the hotel or is it booking.com. But be warned if you are booking into this property. Something strange is going on here. I will continue to blast bad reviews until I can get my money back from booking.com. Be warned.

We booked here for a night as our friends were getting married close by. We stayed on 9th Oct. Room was lovely and clean. Plenty pillows, a throw and large, clean towels. Couldn't fault it. Breakfast was great and nothing was a bother. I would definitely stay again if in the area

Went for Sunday Carvery lunch. I had beef on my mind before arrival, but as a matter of course, they cook the beef well done (no blood at all). It's a personal taste thing, but I really like my beef rare for a Sunday Roast. The service was excellent though. Apart from the beef issue and being given a set number of roasties (unable to serve yourself), it was good.
