If you want a futuristic hotel all in white, everything brand new, enormous space with state of the art technology then this is not for you. Myself personally I am bored of these all mod cons type of hotels. Yes the carpets are worn, yes the walls and floors slant, yes the tv isn’t a full size cinema screen with surround sound. This is an old historic building, incredibly quaint and quirky. Full of character and I absolutely loved it! The staff are amazing, so kind and helpful. The Scotsman at breakfast and dinner was so professional with a great sense of humour. The food was sensational, brilliant combination of flavours. We stayed the whole weekend and it was perfect from start to finish. Well done to all the staff. In conclusion, if you like history and are old skool and love great food and service then this hotel is a must. If you are the snobby entitled person who moans about everything then go and spend 5 grand a night and stay in a 7 star hotel in Dubai! This ain’t for you!!

We had a lovely lunch here. We were greeted immediately by name (impressive!) and shown to our table. The menu is varied and not just the big Sunday roasts. The food was excellent and the service prompt and friendly. Highly recommended. I took one star off location because it was a little hard to park and I can imagine in summer it would be very challenging

I stayed for a week during a course. The staff are amazing. Dennis and the housekeeping team were so attentive and friendly. The food is really tasty and well presented. The room had everything in required for a comfortable stay. The location is excellent. The bed was comfortable and the linen and towels were spotless. I highly recommend. Management need to do all they can to retain such brilliant staff.

We have just been here for Sunday Lunch while on holiday in the Cotswold. We bought our dog with us who is very nervous and they were brilliant with her when we asked to be put on a table in the corner. We were in the snug bar and the service was brilliant. Straight to our table and drinks and food were both really quick. We had the roast chicken and pork roast dinner. They were delicious and large portions. Would highly recommend 🙂

We ate here twice during our trip to the Cotswolds and based in Moreton-in-Marsh. The food and service is excellent. We enjoyed a delicious Sunday roast and went back for the weekday brunch menu a couple of days later. It’s one of the better pubs in the village with nice spaces and great food. Highly recommended. Oh, and dog friendly 🙂

The room had filthy stained carpet that was unsanitary to walk on (slippers were provided thankfully), mold around the tub and covering the bathroom window frame was extensive and the room hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned in years. Additionally the furniture was an ugly hodgepodge of dated Victorian and cheap additions. The linens were scratchy and cheap, the bathrobe was skimpy and cheap (better to not have one at all!) and the pillows extremely thin and uncomfortable. With no air conditioning, in warm weather it would be stifling. There were multiple space heaters in the room, suggesting a drafty, cold environment in winter. We had a drink from the bar which was nice and a mediocre dinner in the restaurant , which also needs a thorough cleaning—carpet was dirty, chair handles were grimy and so much dust. The staff were great—the only positive at this property. Corporate headquarters needs to make a site inspection and address the overall sun-par status of the hotel and draft a remediation plan. We were booked here by Macs Adventures, which we have used many times over the past 10 years., and referred so many friends to. After this experience, we will not use them again and will certainly no longer recommend.

An absolutely fabulous place to eat or go for drinks. The staff are so professional and super friendly and made our Labrador so welcome too. We ate here on two consecutive nights and the food and service were both outstanding. The Sunday lunch was gorgeous and on the Monday evening I had the steak and my husband had the rolled lamb. Highly recommended.

I had a very comfortable room, the bed and pillows were of good quality. Nice big bathroom. The staff was very nice, sat at the bar and had drinks. Breakfast was very good and included. There are quite a few stairs to bring luggage up. Would stay there again.
