Booked for a Sunday lunch on their recommendation the day before as apparently it gets booked up. Booked for 1530 dog friendly table. Due to shocking weather forecast, took a chance and walked down from caravan site up the road an hour early. Was pleased that it wasn’t packed and they were very accommodating and allowed us to order early. We both had a beef Sunday lunch with a side of cauliflower cheese to share (£4). Service was prompt however as we were sat in the (dog friendly bar) we had to order our meals and not benefit from the table service offered in the restaurant. |The food arrived and looked delicious, beef, mash, carrot, red cabbage, roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. Came with more gravy, broccoli and peas. Then our ‘extra’ cauliflower cheese.|The beef wasn’t very tender and the veg. wasn’t very hot. The Yorkshire pudding was soggy and limp and the cauliflower cheese was quite clearly made from frozen veg and was very watery and tasteless. |Overall a very mediocre dinner, tasted nice just tepid in temperature. Wouldn’t return (for a Sunday lunch) .|Nice ambiance and clearly a well liked local however at £5 a pint not very cheap!|Massive beer garden (weather permitting) and beautiful views.

We came on our first Saturday evening in Whitby. This pub was to be our local for a week.

The pub is in a stunning location with amazing views, but that's the only positive thing to say about this place.

The food was very mediocre and forgettable.

The service was terrible. The staff really were not interested and appeared to not want to be there.

We asked for some glasses for the wine. Three times. After 15 minutes we gave up and had to get them ourselves from the bar.

And heaven forbid if you want some serviettes. After asking several times, we eventually had to go into the pub to get some - the waitress rolled her eyes and reluctantly got some out from a cupboard.

If you visit, stay for just one drink and admire the views. But I wouldn't recommend ordering anything that may need some customer service.

My wife and I had a one night stay at the White House inn, we were checked in by a gentleman who was really friendly, as we had arrived early we asked if we could leave our car in the car park while we went off for a walk to Sands End.|To our surprise he said we could check in there and then, which we thought was kind of him as it was a good few hours before the advertised check in time.|The hotel is in an amazing spot, on the edge of the golf course with beautiful views of the countryside and the sea. The restaurant and bar was lovely and, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.|The beer garden was also lovely and, we made the most of it as the weather was good. The room was spotless also the bed was so comfortable, couldn’t fault it! The food was first class and well presented.|We would definitely recommend you give it a try, we will be back and stay for longer next time. Thanks to all at the White House Inn

Had excellent stay overnight, well recommend. Staff were absolutely excellent could not fault at all. Had evening meal and was amazing however was slightly shocked at the bar when we arrived… 2 gin & slimline tonic £20.20 did hurt that one…. ||It’s not far to walk into Whitby and was stunning views taking cliff line route in..

We stayed here for the weekend, we didn't eat on an evening or drink here apart from one drink when we arrived, but it looked ok and was always busy.||We were very pleasantly surprised with the room. With a pub you don't know what you are going to get. They had rooms outside in an annex or rooms above the pub itself, we were above the pub. The room was modern and spacious for 2 and really clean. Breakfast was included and was plentiful, lots of choice. The staff were pleasant and the manager/owner always made sure things were right for you, especially at breakfast. The pub looks onto the golf course and the sea. It's not central, about a 20 min walk into Whitby centre. We will stay here again.

Absolutely loved our 3 nights here, location was fantastic, staff were friendly and food was excellent. About a 20 minute walk to Whitby which was worth it. The view from our rooms balcony was beautiful. Definitely check The White House out if you are in the area.. 10/10.. my partner and I loved it.

The pub is lovely and staff friendly. We had a Sunday lunch that was described as homemade. The Yorkshire puddings were definitely not homemade and soggy like they had been microwaved and the roast potatoes were hard and not cooked. The food was not good value and below average.

What an amazing place! in a beautiful spot with views over the sea, lovely inside warm & welcoming, really nice staff we were served by Lisa very friendly & helpful, The food was absolutely amazing, possibly the best food we have eaten out & we do visit a lot of places! |Two of us had Gammon, one of us had salmon, & i had the scampi all of us had really decent portions & definitely good food, the chips were amazing!|We will definitely be back.
