Drove 48 mins to meet up with friends as a half way mark, this is our First visit to this pub and it exceeded expectations.||Ambience: welcoming and well planned, much larger than it looks with plenty of parking spaces ,inside and outside seating. Very modern with plenty of comfortable seating and tables, large dining area .there is a nice private function room and a Long bar in the heart of the pub .||Food; good choice from a varied menu serving locally sourced food. I like that I could see the cooks at work with a long work station -counter..||Cost: Mid range worth every penny.||Staff: very helpful and friendly, our waitress Julie was very accommodating and made us feel very welcome.||This pub hosts tribute events once per month and has a few room upstairs that that can be booked, they do a tribute package which includes room dinner and breakfast dining room breakfast .||Overall we had a very pleasant experience in this Pub which is in a lovely rural location. We will return.

Beautiful venue, lovely atmosphere and wonderful staff, shout out to Elliott. My reasoning for 4 stars and not 5 is:-Salmon on the menu was really nice but a very small portion. Food from kitchen to table was slow. However a lovely, very welcoming visit.

Me and my husband have been coming here many times so for the Saturday before Mother’s Day, my son wanted to treat me and my husband so we bought them here to find out the change the menu very drastically and it was very disappointing. They’ve taken off so many good meals. I don’t know whether we’ll come back.

Absolutely terrible….
The property has so much potential to be a great place, but from the beginning the bar staff had to google the cocktail at the bar, took ages after being seated to have our order being taken.
2 wrong starters were bought to the table.
We had another 20 minutes wait until the right starter was bought t the table, then it was frozen and the bread stale.
The main was ok, but just ok nothing special.
Coffee took ages and again not hot and no milk.
Asked for one last round of drinks and took for ever.
I’m bored moaning now, so in short not a great experience.
Fab place, poorly managed, mediocre food.

Update. Second visit. Went there again yesterday. A busy Saturday for sure but boy the service was slow. The quinoa salad had less than a table spoon of quinoa in it and the halloumi was miniscule. I’ve tried a few times now as it’s so local to me but the food is not good. They did offer a drink as a freebie two hours later but way too late as we had paid the bill and were leaving. Pretty poor. Not going to risk it again tbh.

Enjoyable tribute night. Service was excellent even though the place was fully booked & bustling. Servers helpful & attentive. Alex (manager I think) was so accommodating with his drink availability. ||Food quality was tasty and plenty of it. ||A thoroughly enjoyable night out and will definitely be back. ||Top marks to all. Thank you 🫶🏽

Came for a spontaneous dinner and drinks with my friend, was served by the lovely Julie and Andreea B. I had the toad in the hole and my friend had the rib eye, both were outstanding! Loved the selection of 0% options, definitely helped to round off dry January! Can’t wait to come back soon.

Popped here for an impromptu lunch with a friend. Really good selection of food. I had the pork bites to start and a fantastic toad in the hole as a main.
Reasonably priced, especially compared to London!
I’d go back more regularly if I didn’t live so far away.
