A special dinner out to celebrate whilst on holiday. We liked the pub layout its ambience and decor. We went through to the bar to have a drink before our dinner and asked for a cocktail. The bar attendant told me three she could do but nothing I reliahed so.asked for a dry rose. A lovely glass of Sancerre but goodness when our bill came and we saw the price we were shocked £13.85. A completely unacceptable price. The beers not well kept as they went flat quickly were £5.50. A group of four sat in frint if the bar almost blocking access. No apology no willingness to move was not a good start.
Our meal was underwhelming. Starters were fine the crab beignet and the black garlic with flat bread. However my husbands burger and chips at £19 was tough. How can a burger be tough. The meat looked grey. The chips were delicious but no side salad or veg just a little salad in the roll. My watercress and goats cheese risotto was relatively bland had it not been for the five pieces of goats cheese scatteted on top. The risotto sat in the middle of a large plate congealing around the edges and it was quite stodgy. No slippery shiny smooth risotto gracing my plate sadly.
The gentleman taking our order enteted into conversation after we ate but no mention of the meal we tad eaten. How odd not to want feedback.
We would not return or recommend sadly

It was a bit of a mixed bag for us really. We went for an early supper at 6pm and we all enjoyed our main courses very much.

When we arrived, the service was great. Then it started to get busy and there was a long wait for our desserts, which weren't quite so good. My daughter ordered scone with strawberry jam and clotted cream. Essentially it was served as a whole scone with a little bit of jam and cream plonked on the top, making it hard to eat with a spoon and fork and very dry past the top part.

I ordered dognuts with rhubarb and custard, which I thought sounded different. They certainly were! There were 2, quite dry donuts with very little custard inside and an undercooked tiny strip of rhubarb on the top. Very dry and they tasted a bit like they may have been cooked with fish! Overall. Expensive desserts (£9 each) for what they were and very disappointing. We expected better quality considering how good thr main courses were.

We weren't asked at the end of the meal or when we paid our bill if everything was OK, so we just paid and left. Seemed like service might be better when less busy possibly.

Beautiful and peaceful location. It's a nice spot to enjoy the garden in the sunshine. The staff were lovely and the food looked good. On our next visit I hope to dine and stay in the accommodation.

Outstanding! What a fantastic time at The Wiverton Bell! From the warm welcome by all of the staff we came into contact with, to the delicious food, everything was just right. Special shoutout to the exceptional Chris, who not only provided top-notch service but also took the time to write down the sea bream recipe for us. Really appreciated the extra effort - can't wait to try cooking it at home! Highly recommend The Wiverton Bell restaurant

Great stay in The Starlight Room, staff are all friendly, welcoming and helpful. Food is excellent, lots of choice for breakfast too.
Just little niggles to make it perfect:
Wish there was a choice of bun for the burger Brioche too sweet, sour dough lovely but too hard when toasted.
Housekeeping: the shower waste needs attention as the water is overflowing from the tray, the waste outlet isn’t clean, full of hair etc.
Have already recommended to friends, would definitely come again.

We stayed in an 'even better king room' for 2 nights at the end of January. Room was clean and comfortable with good dog amenities and nice features, although TV would have benefitted from a streaming channel option (Netflix didn't work). Meals in the restaurant were excellent, especially breakfast (our dog was spoilt with sausages), and staff were super friendly - special mention for Niamh and Jess who couldn't do enough. Would have been five stars, were it not for the underwhelming open fire on our second night and chilly temperature in the restaurant. Would definitely return, though.

Nice location with comfortable rooms. Some areas need attention like the ladies’ loo in the restaurant with a very wonky toilet seat! Gallery room has a dreadful key juxtaposition which was very difficult to use. Decent food, good service and a lovely outdoor seating area at the back.
