Had a delicious lunch at the Woodman Inn today. The prawn cocktail was the best I have had in a long time. The beef roast had thick slices of tender meat, a large homemade yorkshire pudding, plenty of vegetables and extra meaty gravy.
The staff are lovely too. I would definitely recommend giving them a try.

Drove by and stopped in for a late Sunday lunch. The staff were all welcoming and the service was great. It was the best roast dinner I have had for a long time, the giant Yorkshire puddings were amazing. The dessert was also delicious. Would highly recommend.

A very comfortable, value for money pub with accommodation. Our room was separate to the pub so was quiet, cosy and clean. ||The staff were very welcoming. We particularly would like to give a shout out to Chloe, who couldn’t do enough for us and was lovely.||Hopefully we’ll be back! ||Mark and Michelle

Very disappointing meal, I had prawns with chilli the butter was black and obviously burned no taste at all and a sad side salad. My husband had scampie which was better but the chips were frozen not home made as stated. Lady behind the bar was very friendly and chatty. We will not be back for food.

We were meandering around the back waters of North Yorkshire to the South of Bedske on an old scenic drive at at midday found ourselves in Burneston, outside the Woodman Inn, and by now being hungry decided to stop, a good decision. Being early we were 1st to be seated and received excellent service, choosing their battered Haddock main with chips and peas, and it was superb, we would certainly stop there again if in the area, as we visit the nearby Wensleydale Railway as shareholders. We noticed they had won TripAdvisor awards recently, and noticed a display featuring our favourite Taittinger Champagne.

We walked from our campsite to get to the pub. Food was disappointing? I had the garlic mushroom top with cheese..it was more like a soup when it came. The pastry on the steak pie was far too thick...all the seasonal veg was overdone. We certainly won't go back...food and service was very poor

We arrived late in the evening, which was close to the kitchens closing time but we were made very welcome and nothing was to much trouble, the meal's were amazing and plenty of it.
