Greeted with a lovely warm welcome at the Inn after the hotel we booked did not have the pet-friendly rooms we had requested. Despite booking only minutes before our arrival we were offered 2 cottages - these were perfect as there was a private entrance at the front and a private terrace & lawn at the rear for the dogs. The room was beautifully decorated, fully equipped and very comfortable. The restaurant was superb with great food and a fantastic ambience. We were delighted to have stayed at the Woolpack Inn and will definitely return. A perfect, pet friendly stay with our dogs and cat.

Lovely food although the lamb dish I had differed from the description on the menu.|We were told after ordering there would be a bit of a delay about 40 minutes later it arrived. |After that we were completely forgotten although there were only a couple of other people drinking at the bar. Had to go to ask for the dessert menu at the bar then waited eventually someone came and took our order & then another wait.

We had an amazing stay at the Woolpack Inn. We stayed in the Gisborne room above the pub which was very quaint. The bed was very comfortable and we didn't hear any sounds from the pub below. The bathroom featured a shower over a bathtub and shampoo and soaps were provided. The wardrobe in the bedroom housed a kettle and coffee machine and a small fridge with drinks and snacks (at extra cost). The staff were very friendly and we can also highly recommend the food. We had an evening meal as well as breakfast and both were delicious.

Wow! What a find...absolutely nothing was too much trouble and the staff were super friendly, chatty and efficient. The room was stunning - very large comfy bed, extensive tea and coffee making facilities and a super bathroom. Great decor too. Breakfast was utterly unrushed and a lovely way to finish off a perfect stay. This was truly fabulous.

We have been to this pub three times for Sunday lunch. It is a treat to eat in this establishment. On no occasion have we been disappointed. ||The food is a very high quality. It is all well cooked to a high standard. It is the reason you would go out for Sunday lunch. It is not fine dining where you can leave an establishment after eating three courses feeling you need to get a bag of chips to fill you up.|This is Sunday Dinner at its best. Everything on the plate is exactly how I like my lunch. ||The general ambiance of the pub is good, open fire, well stocked bar, and pictures on the wall which to me have an Hemmingway, Key West feel.||The staff are good. Cheerful, attentive and motivated.||The only down side is people bring their dogs to a pub. This a personal dislike of mine particularly when they let the wander around being ‘everyone’s friend.’ ||Overall. Sunday lunch here cannot be faulted. We have not been here for an evening meal.

The most beautiful country pub and overnight stay. Service was 5 star from welcome to dinner to breakfast. Food was incredible also and we have already booked to come back again. Great value for the quality of what you get. The cottage was so clean, modern, homely and just made our stay so special.

Hospitality was welcoming and lovely lady who was related to the owner was very chatty at hosting on burns night and gave us a few hints for the quiz! |Food was delicious but green beans were missing from the fish dish, however were provided when we asked. The lamb and mint pie was delicious but disappointing it didn’t come with mash as listed and the smallest portion of sauté potatoes- gravy and veg was perfect! I took some of my husband mash he had with the lamb shank and it was so much nicer. There was a long wait for drinks to be told the young man was busy making cocktails. Burgers topped with pull pork went down a storm! Honeycomb sundae was very disappointing to end our nice meal at £9 each- basic ice-cream and smallest amount of brownie and honeycomb at the bottom- for this price I would expect it to be layered and it was no where near as the high standard of the main course. ||Overall very good and would return but need to make sure they are listing on the menu exactly what comes out with each meal and make sure this is served. ||Lovely staff- ever so friendly! And comfy ascetically pleasing interior 😉

Beautiful inn, very comfortable room across from main building, excellent food. Unfortunately, the Woolpack lets itself down on the small details, no side plates available at breakfast, so saucers had to be used for toast, also seemed to be a shortage of butter. Staff were very friendly and helpful, would definitely stay again, as I am sure that the minor imperfections are not a regular feature.
