I stayed at Wartley House for one night, and the stay was nice. I truly appreciate the staff—their service was excellent, especially the lady who helped with breakfast. The breakfast was wonderful, and overall, it was a great experience.

I’ve stayed here four times this year, and on each occasion everything has been wonderful.|The staff are so engaging, the bedrooms have everything you need, and if you book breakfast, well, that’s outstanding.|The Hall itself has so much character, with grand rooms and high ceilings. The staircase is also impressive, and you can imagine in years gone by, the gentry in all their finery making their way down them for dinner!|Can’t wait to stay again!

Visited on the 14th of January, approximately 50 guests for my mum funeral wake ,we had a buffet organised. I had to ask for coffee ro be brought out as there was none out when we all arrived except tea, as for the buffet and what I had ordered was very very poor indeed, selection of quiche that came out of a box , sausage rolls home made but soggy pastry underneath and greasy, open sandwiches they were as if they were just slung on to silver trays no presentation poor quality, round rolls cut into 4 not even finger rolls . Crispy chicken out of a bag, chips out of a bag not even fresh , does the chef not know how to peel a potato and make chips. Scones were dry need I go on , the chefs should be ashamed of what they sent out , no pride in their work for a simple buffet disgraceful. I suspect they don't even care. 3 times i had to ask for more tea and milk the customers were not looked after properly by the waiting staff checking regularly that there needs were being met. The management of the hotel needs to sort this out with the head chef and chefs. If this is the standard that they think is acceptable for the wortly hotel then I'm very sorry for them . This was really bad. I would not recommend Mr clark , bottesford , scunthorpe

Bit disappointed this year at Boxing day, staff seemed so rushed. The tea pot hadn’t been brewed at all when they came round with it, it resembled dish water! Not sure we will book next year as they just seemed rushed, fed up and it didn’t feel special at all sorry Wortley you dropped the ball this year!

I had my wedding there and it was no organisation at all I'm very disappointed when we arrived no one came out to greet us and tell us what was going to happen when we finally got in there there wasn't a table plan ready so people don't know where to sit till the table plan came At the night due the DJ didn't know the schedule of the night as in first dance cutting the cake We are really disappointed with the service we received

Where to start.
1. The Room
I thought the reason check in is in the afternoon is so the staff can prepare the room ready for the incoming guest(s), things we found wrong
Hot water running through the cold water tap, both bedside lights didn't work, a bulb missing from the main light. The bathroom window wouldn't close so the blind was constantly banging against the window frame and at 6am the boiler room kicked in and woke us up. In the morning I had a shower which the flow was switching between hot and cold.
2. The Dining experience.
The menu looked great and extensive so we decided to eat there. The barman was useless.i ordered 2 drinks, a starter and 2 mains. I got him to read back what I'd ordered to check, good job because he got it wrong. He then proceeded to serve everyone else before us having to remind him that we wanted our drinks. When the meals came the starter came out with the mains. I ordered the Chicken Parmo, which should have come with hand cut chips. Instead it came the fries. I sent it back. My wife ordered the beetroot and goats cheese tagliatelle. The tortellinis were huge and not fully cooked, the texture of leather. She only ate a fraction of it. When the plates were collected she told the waiter the chef should take it off the menu it was that bad. All we got was "sorry about that". On check out not once we're we asked about our stay, we were not offered any sort of apology or refund.
I know the hotel is marketed and advertised as a 3 star, but in my opinion that is 1 star too many. Will we stay the again? NEVER , it's a dump

Well done to everyone at The Wortley Hotel for making our works Christmas Party a really excellent night.||There was a great atmosphere in a full house and the hotel coped very well. There were plenty of staff on which is always a good thing with so many people at the bar at one time, you didn't have to wait long to get served. This carried on through the night when serving food for the 3 course meal which was also very nice.||Scrap Yard dogs entertained us on stage and they were superb as always, what a great group, had the dance floor full all night. The hotel host got everyone in the party mood with a couple of quick games to entertain us all and the disco kept us up there dancing after the band had finished. ||Well done team Wortley, thank you for a wonderful night.
