The Wycliffe Guest House (book direct for best prices) - Folkestone

We had stayed at the Wycliffe guest House in June 2023 when visiting close friends who live in Folkestone. Our visit this year was, however, on a sadder occasion to see the same couple one of whom since one of them had unfortunately passed away and it was his funeral. Having enjoyed our stay last year, it seemed appropriate to book rooms again at the Wycliffe, this time in early October.
We were not disappointed. Sharon and Trevor are very friendly managers of the guest house and made us feel equally welcome.

The breakfasts and service provided guests with excellent choices and prompt service because we were asked to make our choices and leave them on a table by 10pm to be collected the night before. The breakfast room was a good size with several tables and had an interesting quirky and creaky ‘dumb waiter system’ which sparked a great amount of conversation!
There is a slight issue with parking – space is sufficient if you arrive early although there is space close by on the main road.

The location of the guest house is within walking distance to many facilities and to the sea. The whole house and bedrooms were spotlessly clean, neat and tidy and had a very hospitable atmosphere, We would highly recommend it to others!

My wife had previously stayed here with friends and took me for a two night break. It was perfect, very welcoming owner and a lovely cosy comfortable room. Very nice freshly prepared breakfast in the morning and a nice residents lounge and honesty bar to sit and relax in in the evening. Easy walk to the harbour and some great restaurants and bars even nearer

This is a real old fashion gem, |It has a massive lounge and an honesty bar, how rare and unique is that. !!!|I was there Saturday 1st February one of my frequent visits, as usual a warm welcome, when I booked there were no double rooms left, so I booked a twin.|We were upgraded to a family room, which was a delight.|Nothing is too much trouble.|I must add the breakfast is superb all good quality ingredients and beautifully presented.|I’m visiting again in June.|It truly is a great stay and value for money.

We stayed last night on our way to France. Lovely place, we arrived a little later than anticipated, room was nice and warm, immaculately clean. Was welcomed by a lovely lady, again, in the morning, greeted by the owner, beds were a little on the softer side to what I prefer, but would definitely visit again, great experience, thank you.

Friendly welcome, private parking, good variety of choices for breakfast and good quality, flexible timing. Quiet guest house, small bathroom.|Handy to get to the tunnel in 10 minutes. We booked for the third time before our crossing to France.

Spacious and friendly guesthouse which looks as if it’s been recently renovated. The location is very pleasant with many typical Victorian houses and is super quiet, under 10 minutes walk to centre of Folkestone. Excellent breakfast. Fair price.

We stayed here last weekend whilst visiting Folkestone for the weekend, it was perfect.
Tea and biscuits in the room were lovely to come back to after a long day walking up on the cliffs, and the full English breakfast in the morning was delicious! Will definitely be visiting again next time we're in Folkestone.
