We stayed at the Marris Barn and Wagon Shed as a family of 16 in November. ||There was everything you could need, very well equipped with plates, cutlery, pots and pans etc||The rooms were clean and well presented on arrival, such a luxury for everyone to have their own en-suite. ||The most important thing to mention is the pool, sauna and games area. This made our trip and is where we spent the majority of our time.||Even as a large family staying here, we never got in the way of each other, such a spacious place and has a luxury feel ||It is situated in the picturesque Lincolnshire wolds, It is the perfect opportunity to get your steps in and soak up the scenery! ||We have already booked for next year!

We just returned from an amazing four days at this most delightful place to stay. We a family we rented Curlew and Celandine, the sweet little cottages next door to each other. My grandchildren and their parents in one with my wife and I next door. The children loved to be able to walk round to see us 🙂

Judy is really lovely host and has created a beatiful garden around her house and the cottages.

I had high hopes going on the opinions of friends who had visited on several occasions in the past. Unfortunately, it didn’t meet my expectations. Starting with the positives, gorgeous location and the pool room is wonderful. Overall it was clean but the wooden worktop around the sink area needs a lot of attention and makes the area feel un-hygienic. The kitchen although equipped with everything you need, was too small to cater for large parties.|Overall decor needs a refresh in some area’s. My bed was really creaky so I didn’t sleep well. The shower caused me the most inconvenience with no pressure and produced a weak trickle at best. This was an issue a number of other rooms too. I had to use the shower in the pool area to be able to wash my hair. |Lastly, I would have expected some toiletries in the bathroom’s which is now a normal expectation for 5 star accommodation. I have had a brilliant weekend with friends but not return again unless Marris Barn was given a little facelift, just a bit shabby round the edges in my opinion.

My son and I stayed in Curlew Cottage for two nights whilst attending a wedding in the area. The cottage was very well appointed and was spotlessly clean. The owner had left us many things we didn't expect, for example, tea, coffee, fresh milk, cleaning products, soap, hand cream etc. ||The owner is a lovely lady and goes above and beyond to be accommodating and to make her guest feel welcome. Another guest had got lost on her way and was sounding quite stressed, so the owner had a cold bottle of wine ready for her when she finally arrived. The owner saved us £28 in a taxi to the wedding venue as she kindly gave us a lift in her car.||The setting is lovely, with beautiful gardens. I can't recommend a stay there enough!|

I'm staying here for a few weeks while I'm on a film set locally. The cottage is set up with everything I need and feels like a home away from home.

Judy has been very accommodating, and Brutus her dog has also made us feel very welcome, and joins us on our walks. I'd say he is an excellent guide apart from when he gets distracted by something in the distance.

It's worth noting if you are coming with dogs that there are occassionally cats wandering the lovely large lawn area outside your patio.

It has lovely walks on your doorstep, and because its the end if a dead end lane, its beautifully quiet! Its about 20 minutes from York, with gorgeous villages to explore, and close right on the edge of thr Yorkshire Moors.

We have just returned from visiting York . We stayed in Curlew cottage for three nights. This has a double bed and a sofa bed. There are modern amenities. This was a good base for visiting North Yorkshire Moors as well as the city of York. Judy was extremely helpful. She had stayed up although we arrived quite late. The place itself is tranquil and very peaceful. The only comment is that The village is a difficult to find especially when travelling from the South. This place is good for dog lovers. I would certainly recommend this place.

Four of us and two dogs stayed for nine nights in both of Judith's cottages, and had a lovely relaxing time, so peaceful and quite, with beautiful countryside all round. Lots of wildlife, plus Judith's two dogs always ready to great you. Lovely lane for walking the dogs. ||The cottages were so comfortable, clean and Judith had thought of everything for your comfort, would highly recommend.||So close to York and other Yorkshire interests. Pub down the lane at the end of the road, and others a short drive away. Would love to go back.

Just got back from a wonderful 3-night stay at Curlew Cottage. The cottage is beautifully presented with good quality furniture and fittings. Everything we could've wanted was provided. Judy was the perfect host, helpful without being intrusive and her two dogs were lovely, sitting outside our gate waiting to greet us on our return every evening. The location was perfect - so peaceful with the only noise being birdsong! Plenty of wildlife to be seen along the access lane leading to the cottage amongst which were deer, hares, partridges and pheasants.||All in all, a wonderful three days which we'd love to repeat one day. Would highly recommend Thorganby Farm Cottages. Thank you Judy.
