We stayed the night after looking for a place to rest while taking on a sponsored walk for charity, the second we arrived everything was perfect from welcome cakes and the heating being on ready from a long day of walking. Breakfast was delivered at an arranged time and was lovely, Alex was an amazing host!

Had a lovely stay before a Duxford air show. Beautiful village, cute pub down the road (The Three Tuns) and the B&B itself was lovely - perfect for a weekend stay. And the host made us a lovely English breakfast early on a Sunday before the show (thanks again!)

I have given this a lot of time since our stay so that I could calm down and give a true judgement on this B&B, I realise too well that poor reviews can harm a business and harm a person’s income and that’s why I want to give a measured assessment, first of all the photographs used on all of the booking sites are from 16 years ago when the B&B was under different ownership in the photographs that I will attempt to upload you will see the for sale sign, in my assessment the new owner has done nothing with this property and I mean absolutely nothing in my opinion it has not been cleaned since they purchased it, the windows are dirty, the drive is full of weeds, outside the apartment we stayed in was a broken lamp and a couple of empty and dirty flower pots, as for inside everything including the bedding is as it was for the previous owners just 16 years older and not in good order, the shower does not work properly and the shower controls are broken, the breakfast was cold and poorly cooked and the sausages gave me the runs, we did not peel back the bed covers until it was time to get into bed and it was obvious that the bedding had been used, there was hair, skin and scabs in the sheets, I would not recommend anyone using this B&B until the owners had invested some time and effort in cleaning it up.

We received a "Buy a Gift" voucher from family members and found this little gem when looking for somewhere to stay. We had not visited the area before, and wanted to go to Cambridge.

The accommodation was really lovely. It had character and charm, which is a step away from what we usually stay in - think big chain hotels! The living area was equipped with a little fridge, washing up liquid/sponge, kitchen towel, coffee machine, kettle, microwave. I think I saw an iron and ironing board in the cupboard too. There was a 2 seater sofa and a little dining table with 2 chairs, which on arrival had a really lovely plate of brownies and a jar of biscuits πŸ˜‹ There was a radiator you could turn on/off yourself and although a bit chilli on arrival, it didn't take long to warm up. We were staying in the cottage with garden view.

The living area led through to the bathroom, which had underfloor heating which was a great touch. Toilet had a sensor light for nighttime which was fun when you've had a couple of drinks! There were plenty of toiletries etc. Shower was okay, good pressure and easy to navigate.

Bedroom was very quaint. I think there was a heated blanket, however we didn't use this so can't be 100% sure that's what it was. There were extension cables for plugging in your gadgets and a small television. Bed was very comfy and we both had a really good 2 night's sleep, and neither of us usually sleep well away from home!

The little pub down the way is absolutely worth a visit. According to the ladies this is from the 14th century and has the character to match - it is stunning. Food was okay. Nothing to write home about, but nice pub grub.

The host was absolutely fabulous. Being a local, he was very knowledgeable and advised us of the best way to get into Cambridge - this is via the guided bus and that in itself was an experience! It took around 30/40 minutes to get into Cambridge this way, but there's zero chance of traffic until you get into the centre itself. As a mention, Cambridge is amazing - we particularly enjoyed Queens College (Β£5 entry PP) and the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology.

Breakfast was delicious! We both had a classic English breakfast with buttered toast, very tasty sausages, poached egg and beans. Very filling and better still, brought straight to your door to enjoy in the privacy of your room.

Overall, we would definitely stay again if we visited the area again!
