My wife and I found ourselves in this part of Lincolnshire by chance and the accommodation we were in could not accommodate us another night.|We had driven past here and thought we would give it a go.|Exceeded all expectations in every way.|The owners and all staff were friendly and welcoming and the room we had was tastefully decorated and extremely clean. Comfortable bed and very peaceful.|The pub downstairs is very traditional and has a warm vibe, not like so many of the clinical and soulless pubs you often find.|Beer and wine were excellent and so were the meals my wife and I had. All at a very fair price too.|There was a bingo night when we stayed and although not something we would normally do we joined in and had a great evening. All the locals were very welcoming too.||Now on to the negative comments you may see online (we all check them out and form opinions)|The owners were very kind and welcoming, yes there is some dry humour thrown about,but go in with an open mind and without a chip on your shoulder and you will have a great time. They also can take a bit of stick back. Good to see some old school pub banter that is so lacking these days.||Shaun the dog is no problem at all.|We are not doggy people and are always a little wary of dogs in pubs.|He didn’t beg for food and was very friendly. He just wants to be your friend.|So ignore the people moaning about him. ||All in all it was one of the best evenings we have had in a long time.||Thanks team we will be back when next in the area 10/10||Chris and Tara

Excellent Inn with good food and good accommodation . We were well looked after by the hosts Deane and Rob. Both the room and the pub were well appointed , clean and warm. Food was good pub food cooked to order with generous portions. Good range of beers and wines. Large car park outside so no problem parking. Good value (booking online is cheaper!) pub well managed by friendly hosts. 5 Stars from me.

Recently stayed with Rob and Dean to attend my sisters funeral. Right from check in they couldn’t have been more kind and helpful . They could not have looked after us any better. Accommodating our vague meal times and appetites owing to the occasion and nothing was too much trouble . The food was lovely and portions very generous. The breakfast was amazing and the best we have had anywhere We were there for 2 nights the room we had was wonderful. The mattress the most comfortable I have ever slept on . It was quiet and exactly what we needed . The services in the room replenished immediately after request generously.
I cannot fault the guys or their establishment and look forward to visiting them again happier times .

We were prompted to revisit after reading the last couple of nonsense reviews by buffoons complaining about Shaun the dog.|The Thornton Hunt is a cracking pub that serves great beer and excellent food. The Sunday dinner is the best we have found in the area and we will make a point of going more often now.|Shaun the dog is a lovely addition. The most Freindly and attentive of dogs, he adds to the wonderful atmosphere. I cannot believe people have the audacity to complain about the dog. Just about sums people up these days.|We have visited in the week for dinner and found the food to be delicious and the portions are huge.

Wow what a brilliant pub, warm super friendly super mint clean, brilliant landlord, ace dog Shaun, great pint, we called Saturday night first time ever, What a refreshing change to walk into a traditional pub we didnt eat but will be returning to eat cannot fault it in any shape or form, Brilliant comfy pub and we love Shaun and thankyou for your kindness on my birhday

Absolutely gorgeous homemade Sunday lunch and plenty of it. The pub is clean warm and very welcoming. They have a pub dog called Shaun who is so cool. I’ve never met a well behaved dog. He’ll come and say hello if you say hello to him. He doesn’t beg or hang around your table. I really wish this was my local pub. It’s well worth the drive believe me!! They have a well stocked bar and the wine is beautiful. Highly recommend!

Absolutely lovely country pub that does amazing food. If you fancy a weekend away somewhere out in the nature and peaceful atmosphere with character, this is the place. Not only that they tend to have live acts and the landlord is absolutely hilarious. Warm welcoming place. 5*

I stopped at this pub for lunch when travelling recently. I don't write reviews, but I think this establishment is exceptional. Sadly this is in a bad way. |The advert outside stated the food was home cooked - it isn't it is frozen wholesale food and its cheap low quality ingredients with no taste. The pub has a mad dog which runs riot around the place all out of control, but the worst thing seems to be an obsession with CCTV. There are cameras everywhere. My wife was afraid to use the toilet. I won't be stopping here again.
