Just visited Towcester for the semi finals of the greyhound Derby. Parking was free and plentiful on rough cut long grass. Staff are pleasant and efficient and the venue is cheap and cheerful, if a bit tired. The three course meal in the restaurant was a taste sensation- was not expecting that! Betting was easy as tote came to the table if you wanted and I could get good phone signal so could use my betting app easily. Balcony was smothered in swallow/ bird poo due to nests under the eves, which could have been cleaned before the event. Otherwise a good night out!

I have only given the above rating because off the young staff and there hard work they were brilliant. Food took 60 minutes each course and was cold luckily had the cheese and biscuits for desert so this course did not apply to the not hot enough. The table I was on
were told it was because the executive boxes were full and they had 80 people in them.
We maybe only a table of 6 but for the Christmas experience we still paid £54.00 plus each person and also spent money on betting on each race and drinks on top of this.
Sorry but the managers and owners should be ashamed of themselves.
All the youngsters working this afternoon worked above and beyond and were deeply apologetic, due to no fault of there's.
But this as a overall experience was not good enough and the excuses were lame to say the least management you knew how many people were booked in so hire the right amount of staff to cover the venue all I can say to the staff that were working give yourselves a pat on the back as they worked extremely hard and yes I left these youngsters a good tip. But shame on the owners for not providing enough staff so the food was brought out on time, and then would of not been cold 😕 and left what could of been a absolutely amazing festive memory to a poor underated 🎄 Christmas cracker joke

Nice to see greyhound races again. A nice and relaxing saturday, ☀️ afternoon with a talk, a drink and a small bet. Nothing posh, but a nice spacious place with local people and families. 13 races. 5 pound pp fee to book online.
Would definitely do it again some time.

Went for a boot sale. But only 9 stalls. And the place looks very run down. Holes in the roof. Broken flooring. Dirty.

Travelled 45mins to attend their Xmas Fayre which we saw advertised on Facebook, queued for 20+ mins to park to then find out at the entrance that they only accept cash for entry, what an absolute joke! No signs on advert or even leading up to the event that it was cash only, how difficult would that be!! Most probably that was the reason why there were so many cars leaving after just 90mins of it opening, they probably had the same experience as us. Parking was an absolute car crash too with only one guy trying to direct traffic and even he couldn't be bothered to wear a high vis, he just held it instead. 🙄

We went to the Sunday car boot which is ok but not a patch on the stadium in MK, now sadly not running. Parking and access is good, £1 each to get in. Last went in the winter when the stalls were a bit thin, but it does seem to be growing. Sad to see the racecourse and buildings unused.

My first visit to towcester and first introduction to dog racing. There were longish queues at the bar, but the bar staff were friendly, and polite. The track was very good with a big screen at three finish line, and like all courses there were a variety of size tv's if you didn't fancy braving the weather, it was raining off and on. There were seating areas where you could enjoy your drinks and your meal. I enjoyed my burger, but wished that the menu didn't have chips with everything. Our choice was burger, foot long hotdog. Currys, baked potatoes, pies, chicken wraps. All came with chips. My cheeseburger also came with yummy onion rings. Again it would have been nice to have had a choice of fried onions with the burgers and hotdogs. Rice with the curries would have been nice. Price was ok. I liked the chips. Some of our party used the restaurant, buti can't comment on that, sorry.
I found the betting a little confusing being my first time, and unfortunately didn't have a win. I also found that the time between the races was very short. the races were over very quickly and before we knew it our evening had finished. All in all a very pleasant trip out with some very good company. A big thank you to our Dunstable Conservative Club for arranging it, well done Kev!.
