I really couldn't wait to write the review. We have been all over for city breaks from London, Venice to Budapest. ||My partner wanted to surprise me with a little break to York and what a brilliant stay here. I was blown away, i really couldn't fault it whatsoever.||From the moment we stepped through the doorway it was beautiful. Our Room was gorgeous four posted bed, lovely walk in shower. Everything you need from sewing kit, hairdryer, shower cap, make up wipes, had a great coffee in the room with fresh milk (not those little pods you find with long life milk in). Fluffy towels, electric black out blinds, heating was perfect too which you could change the temperature yourself. Small fridge with complimentary water and a couple of cans of pop.||Walking distance to York was only about 20-25 minutes. Parking outside.||Breakfast was beautiful i don't normally do a full English but i did this time. Oh amazing, there is alternatives too. Also fresh coffee, cereal, jams fruit. ||Service was exceptional they couldn't do enough for you. Especially when they remember your names! made us feel very special.||Just a big thank you for making our stay so welcoming and next time we ever come to York again we will definitely be staying with you.

The Tower Guest House is a delightful period house, situated within an easy 15 minute walk of the historic city of York.|We stayed in room 8. It was clean, bright and extremely comfortable. The facilities were top notch, and our hosts were friendly and approachable.|The breakfast was well cooked, and tasted great. Especially the mushrooms!|We had a wonderful time in York and did A LOT of walking, so it was nice to come back to such a relaxing residence.|Also, free parking! What more could you want. |We would definitely stay again if visiting York. Highly recommended.

Fantastic hotel with the best beds and bedding I have had. We slept so well and the room was great, full of technology and importantly really quiet. Breakfast was top shelf with great ingredients and choice and the owners were really attentive. Having stayed in hundreds of hotels and guest houses over the years through work I can honestly say this is in my top 5 , a credit to you both

Really lovely stay - Tony was friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The room was beautifully presented, clean and functional, lovely big comfy bed. About 15 mins walk to the minster and city centre, down a main road. Regular bus too (number 6 and 40 I think). Breakfasts made to order, very tasty, lovely coffee too. A fab stay, would definitely return 😁

Just returned from a 3 night break here- absolutely fantastic! Perfectly located for a 15 minute walk right to the centre of York with all it has to offer. The hotel App is great allowing you to select your breakfast, control the room temperature and many other things. You can park your car and forget about it for the duration of your stay as everything is accessible from this location. Every room is unique and well thought out with lots of really practical additions such as sewing and first aid kits. The Hosts are fantastic and the quality of the breakfast outstanding! A thoroughly enjoyable stay and would highly recommend to anyone wanting a lovey relaxing stay in York.

One of best hotels / guest houses in the UK I think we have spent time in. We had Room one, it was very clean, decor was lovely, bed was terrific. Room good size, in fact our bed was so comfortable we simply slept in, and then almost missed breakfast. OK so we were late for breakfast, but we were really lucky as it was kept warm for us, we were so glad no too have missed it as our breakfast was outstanding. Honestly it was cooked to perfection, must mention the coffee machine it's great, you must try the café au lait. Anyway try the chilled, fresh fruit, it includes strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and if want pineapple and yoghurt they were all spot on. If you go to York then you will not be disappointed in staying here, good value and an outstanding place to stay. Thank you for making us feel so welcome. Mike and Jackie.

We recently stayed at the Tower Guest House. Our room, the Versaille Room on the ground floor, was beautifully appointed, clean & stunningly decorated. The crystal chandelier set the tone of the room. The window shutters caused gorgeous light patterns in the room.The king-size bed was comfortable and angled nicely to watch TV from! The fetching gold wardrobe contained a safe, ironing board & iron, and plenty of hanging space. A hairdryer was fixed into the ornate dressing table. There were tea & coffee making facilities, along with a small fridge which was integrated into a unit matching everything else that was festooned in gold. The room had air-conditioning too. The smart TV boasted Netflix. There was even a small mezzanine area above the bathroom, accessed by a ladder. The en-suite had a refreshing powerful shower and a mirror with a shaver point & light incorporated into it. There was even a small washing line in the shower cubicle to dry your towels or anything else on. A heated towel rail completed the amenities in the en-suite.The hosts have literally thought of everything! Two comfy leather arm chairs completed the room. ||The Guest House asked that we connect to a web app to enable us to order breakfast each evening for the next day. The dining room was very light & modern with a huge roof lantern bathing the area in sunshine. The breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented and catered for me as a vegetarian. There was fresh fruit, cereal, granola, fruit juices and cooked breakfast options. A coffee maker was available to use at any time for guests.||The hosts were very genial and friendly. The location was perfect, only a 20 minute walk from the walls and historic centre of York & the railway station. We thought that it would be noisy because of the proximity of a busy road, and bustling hospital next door, but it was surprisingly quiet at night. Would definitely recommend this charming guest house. We'll be returning for sure!

Fabulous guest house. Excellent location, with free car parking on-site, and 15 -20 minute walk into town. The hosts Tony and Diana were very attentive and helpful. We stayed in the Oriental king room, which was spacious, beautifully decorated, and immaculately clean. Plenty of thoughtful extras too. Breakfast was wonderful with fully cooked options, along with cereal, yoghurt and fresh fruit. The guest house has its own app which is really excellent. I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else if I was visiting York in the future 😊
