Although this hotel is perfectly located at the heart of South Yorkshire, handy for the towns and beautiful & historic countryside, it excels for its friendly and helpful staff. Poppy was particularly affable, helpful and chatty, which is very welcoming in comparison to so many hotels where the personnel don’t seem to have time for customers. Manager Beverly very much reinforced this characteristic of the Travelodge staff, both professional and welcoming.

We visit Barnsley regularly (from Canada) and whenever here stay at this property ( as well as other Travelodge properties in the UK). This visit had us staying 3 times over three weeks for a total of 7 nights. Never been disappointed. Clean, comfortable and conveniently located. Several restaurants in area and an Aldi across street Staff are always very friendly, with Beverly being top notch!! 👍👍

Very happy with our stay. If you need a budget option this will satisfy your needs. Cleanliness was reasonable, no noise complaints and staff are friendly. Towels smelt of vinegar and were a little crispy but they were clean and for the price I paid this wouldn’t put me off booking again in the future. My expectations were met and there wasn’t anything that dissatisfied me.

Staff were lovely and tried to help but the room wasn't suitable for us. No sockets near the bed - limited sockets in total. Wifi didn't work for our device. Window looked out onto carpark so kept curtains closed strange smell in the corridor.

Extractor fan broken in room, made extremely loud noises for over an hour following switching off the bathroom light. Corridors smelly, room was damp and smelly. When we asked to be moved due to faulty fan was told hotel was overbooked so we'd need to be moved to another hotel. When receptionist requested that through the system it was refused. Staff badly need training in all areas as poor young girl had no clue what to do and couldn't get hold of a manager. Ended up leaving to stay elsewhere

Excellent location, warm & welcoming staff, trouble free check in, room clean & fresh. Linen freshly laundered. Aldi’s, Dominoes, Starbucks & McDonalds all within walking distances. Lovely & quiet even on a Friday night. Easily accessible

When I arrived and moved the duvet back I was disgusted to find some sort of bed bugs. It is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I had to sleep on the duvet and towel so I didn’t get bit again. My biggest concern is Scabies.

Convenient hotel located just south of Barnsley. Staff are lovely and helpful. Rooms are standard Travelodge fare, but beds very comfortable. Bathrooms clean and do their job.||Only downside was lobby area carpets could do with deep clean.
