Stayed here on our way back home from Cornwall. The hotel was clean and our room was modern and clean too. The lady on reception was welcoming and very accommodating, getting us extra pillows and recommending local walks and food. ||The hotel itself is very quiet considering you are on the A38. We heard no traffic noise or noise from other rooms. Behind the hotel is a camel with a footpath which you can walk along to a local pub, and then continue to Barton marina. ||Thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay and will visit again.

My husband and I stayed at The Travelodge Burton Northbound for one evening midweek as we were visiting family nearby. We were very happy with our stay. The staff were friendly and happy to help. The room was clean and well maintained. Tea and coffee in the room. The bed was comfortable. The hotel was quiet and even though we were directly next to the dual carriageway we hardly heard the traffic at all. The only issue we had was the lack of plug sockets. There are usb ports but we had a couple of electronics that have fixed plugs. However, we still recommend this hotel to others and would return.

We have recently stayed here and our stay was just fabulous. The hotel is so clean and the rooms are also. The manager was telling us it’s recently been refurbished. ||I want to give Kelly a mention. We had both our children with us, both who are autistic and don’t really interact with people. |However, both kids absolutely loved her. The way she interacts with children who have different needs is amazing. I even asked her if she had children of her own with needs because she was that good with them. I’d like to say she’s in the wrong job but she was great at this one also! |They keep asking to return to see her so we will definitely be doing so. ||Thank you so much Kelly for going above and beyond the way you did for my girls, we truly appreciate it.

This hotel has had a makeover since we last stayed here so that is a plus. Staff friendly and helpful. Great for just a room for a night. Only draw back is that it is closer to the main dual carriage way than that of its sister hotel on the South Bound side of A38.

Upon arrival and having driven for 4 hours to get there, I had issues checking in. Despite having paid in advance and amending my booking the day before, I was told I couldn't be checked in because I owed money. This was not correct. I showed my paid invoice, there was no duty manager available, the chap I spoke to on the booking phone number didn't have access to the booking system, said it wasn't his job, suggested I paid the money and claim it back via customer services! I should add that I accept this is not the fault of the hotel staff because despite the reception staff (Emma & Pedro) doing everything they could to help me, they were friendly and welcoming. They do not have the requisite autonomy which is critical if there is no manager on shift who can make decisions. It was a classic case of "computer says no". It finally got sorted at 11pm after reception staff sent an email to their internal helpline. The hotel is dated and scruffy, the bed was so overused it was concave, I had to ask twice for enough towels for the two of us. The shower pressure was unbearably poor during every use. Externally, there are no signs to forewarn you are approaching the hotel, the slip road is tiny, the hotel sign is not lit, you can barely see it in the dark and when you do manage to locate it and turn off on time (on an extremely busy A road), you are met with enormous potholes. I have complained to customer services and doubt I will be staying again.

Iv been staying here five days a week so far and iv found it really good time here staff are really polite and friendly easy to talk to (Michelle) telling us where to go for food. The rooms iv stayed in are clean and smells fresh.Only one bad thing I have to say about the hotel is there's no shops around you need transport to get to shops. I would definitely recommend here and I would stay again

The beds are comfortable but everything is basic.
The Travelodge needs better Road signage? On a fast road you can not see the short hidden entrance - unless you know it is by a Starbucks!

Lovely receptionist welcomed with a smile and great attitude, needed a place for a quick rest and shower so booked a room cheap going rate, you get what you pay for. Clean rooms look like they've been renovated now as some other reviews note it's in need of one - the room I stayed in was great no complaints. Just be careful as theres a few overgrown bushes so getting into the hotel carpark is a bit iffy you can easily miss it if you aren't paying attention other then that great.
