Mixed Experience at Travelodge Cambridge

I recently stayed at Travelodge Cambridge and had a mixed experience.

Positive Aspects:

The location is convenient, with good access to local amenities and transport links.

Areas for Improvement:

Guest Access: The key card system requires guests to be collected from the entrance, which can be inconvenient for visitors.

Cleanliness: Upon arrival, I found the pillow appeared used, and the bathtub had hair from a previous guest, indicating it had not been thoroughly cleaned.

Noise Disturbance: A robot vacuum was used in the corridors during my stay, which caused unexpected noise and disrupted my sleep.

Maintenance Issues: The hand sanitiser dispenser was out of order during my stay. Despite reporting this to staff, it remained unresolved for several days. Additionally, the heating in my room was not working. After multiple complaints, a portable heater was provided, but I was not informed in advance about ongoing maintenance work.

Housekeeping Service: Housekeeping was disappointing. The staff member I interacted with was not particularly welcoming and did not offer to clean my room, only asking what I needed. Despite being the only guest on my floor requesting housekeeping, the service felt inadequate.

Parking Costs: On-site parking is quite expensive. For more affordable and safe parking, I recommend Clifton Road during weekends.

Overall, while the hotel offers a great location, the cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service need significant improvement.

As we waited to check into the Hotel it took us about 25 minutes wait as there was no staff there to assist us. The room only had one bed what ordered two Wich I’m not happy since I had to sleep with my wife. For breakfast I went down and I seen an unwanted man there to assist me he was just standing there and did not communicate with me so a lady told us what to do overall it was not a very good experience the only good thing about the Location what the Five guys opposite to the building.

Great location, conveniently located by local shops and an entertainment centre with a cinema, bowling, restaurants.

Staff were ok, perhaps a bit blunt and in their own world but no issues really.

The room was fine, though lacking in spaces to sit other than the bed. There was one small tub chair but there was room in there for another or even a small sofa for the both of us to sit at, which I've seen in other Travelodge.

Overall we would stay again if other places were booked.

Lovely convenient hotel, about 5 mins walk from the station and 20 mins (with children) from city centre. ||It's nice and clean with a spacious family room and comfy beds. ||Breakfast area is small but has everything you could need and there is a really good selection for breakfast. ||Staff are helpful and it is opposite an arcade, cinema, nandos, five guys and supermarkets. Would happily recommend

Lots of restaurants and food trucks just outside hotel, an inpost, small Tesco and sainsburys just outside. Hotel very clean and generally very well kept. Buses very close to take you into centre to so many amazing museums…. And shops. The hotel was quiet but the windows do not open which was the only thing that caused me a problem. Visited in December and hotel is very warm.

The hotel location is great. When I entered the room, it was actually smelling. I look around and there were not a window for the air circulation. No iron or ironing board in the room. I ring them but iron was not delivered. Have to go to reception for it.
Breakfast was great. With a lots of variety of food. Serving staff was helpful. Check out was easy.

The staff is super nice, helping with anything. Location is great, close to the railway station and city centre. You can find lots of shops nearby. Our room was nice and spacious, we booked a twin room but the staff was able to swap us for a queen size bedroom. Prices are affordable.

This hotel was in the perfect location right next to the venue we were visiting. Reduced price parking in the multistory car park. Lots of places to eat, shops and a cinema.
The staff were amazing and looked after us in the bar until the early hours! Many thanks! It was a perfect stay apart from the hangover we had the next day! 😂
