The hotel’s reception and restaurant were modern, spacious, and well-decorated. We only had breakfast and evening drinks at the hotel, and they were all satisfactory. The rooms were standard Travelodge rooms with the latest decor. The hotel is situated in a relatively new housing estate, and there’s a free multi-story car park at the back, so parking was never an issue.

My only complaint was with their dog-friendly policy at the restaurant. People with dogs are only allowed to use the first two tables when you enter the restaurant, opposite the bar. However, these tables are high and have bench seats that can only seat one person on each side. Since we were travelling as a party of three, we ended up having to sit separately for breakfast, which wasn’t ideal.

The proximity to the restaurant entrance and the bar with the high foot traffic caused the dog to be less settled than if we had been in a quiet corner inside the restaurant. This disruption was not only inconvenient for us but also for the dog while we were trying to eat. If the hotel is advertised as dog-friendly, the dining facilities should cater to that as well.

Apart from this minor issue, I had a positive stay at this Travelodge.

Staying at Travelodge Orchard Park was a pleasant experience, the breakfast was fantastic, there was a constant supply of fresh food being brought to the serving station. The only downfall was you are only allowed 15 minutes of free WiFi per day. Other than that everything was great.

Had early checkin, room wasn't ready. Being disabled back and forth waiting and sending us too a room where the cleaner looked at us like 'why are you here'. Had to wait until the desk clerk gave us new room. Was not informed they do not under circumstances change your bedding or make it up until you have been a week there. Being disabled and having kids that still have accidents is demoralising as you have to ask for sheets and do it yourself. The noise of people walking above is all through the night. They lied to use saying we hadn't but a sign on our door for towels and clean cups as this is all they do. Blatantly we did as our sign was on the floor outside the door and all our towels were missing. 3x this happened so clearly they ran in, took towels and ran out without replacing the. One employee argued the fact in the middle of the door way until l said we have no towels so obviously people have been in! The staff mixed up our food order and didn't know how to do refunds. Half of the all you can eat food was never out. On Christmas day only one member of staff and similarly on boxing day. I could go on. Basically if you want good service, good food and help when you need it, use premier inn. WiFi has to paid for and only 2 devices. The speed was way slower than the 5g outside. Tv ultra small and couldn't hear it well. Small desk. No proper wardrobe. No. Air con had to hire fan. Room wasn't cleaned properly for arrival.

Stay was quite nice, customer service left a lot to be desired. The room was worth what I paid. But even so, you would need binoculars to see the TV from the bed. However, the worst part was £10 for all inclusive buffet. The hot food was very mid and you can tell they used the cheapest products they can get. And as for pastries even though we turned up two hours before the end they had none left, as well as when I asked for some I managed to get a plain croissant. That was stale and you can tell was bought from Aldi in a massive pack. Absolutely rubbish and not worth the money. I could cook better for cheaper and I'm rubbish at cooking.

I have used a lot of Travelodge hotels for work over the last 7 years and this one was the best of them, an updated interior now means the 2 chairs in the room are more comfortable than the old style of chair.

I didn't use the restaurant but it did look nice, more expensive than the nearby takeaway pizza shop but if you are with a group at least you could sit together over dinner.

Free parking in their car park and if full up, there is free street parking in surrounding roads with plenty of space available.

It was quite confusing finding this particular Travelodge, having stayed at many before, as you have to drive through a housing estate to get to it. That said it was a peaceful night's sleep overall apart from the noisy motorbikes for half an hour or so ridden, I assume, by a group of today's youth vying for alpha-rider!
The bedroom was sufficiently roomy, just enough space to manoeuvre my 4-wheeled walker through the door. The TV was minute, but the USB and C-type charging points at each bedside made up for it. The bathroom, however, left much to be desired. I could not fit my walker through the door and even if I could there would have been no room to sit on the toilet or get past it to the shower. When seated on the toilet there was hardly room to access the toilet paper which pressed into one's right leg. The shower was old fashioned, a shower head poking out of the wall which fortunately turned toward the right hand wall while the water warmed up. There was a shower curtain which needed to be adjusted every so often to keep it inside the shower tray. The water pressure was poor, no rubber mat to stop you from slipping and no bath mat to place on the floor when exiting the shower. Thank goodness there was a grab rail at the left side to help you to get in/out. I almost didn't bother when I saw the shower head but I had a big occasion to attend the next day so wanted to look my best. However, the lack of a hair dryer in the room meant I couldn't go to bed until my long thick hair had at least part dried.

The Travelodge Cambridge Orchard Park is a fantastic value for money. It is always kept to a clean standard. The staff are friendly and are more than happy to help. The hotel is fairly newly renovated with the newer type Travelodge rooms. The restaurant sells a variety of food, and drinks are served throughout the night. Perfect to have a quick pint before bed after a long drive. This is a Travelodge, so don't go expecting the Ritz but often priced ar £30 a room you cannot go wrong.
