We stayed here June 15th through June 20th 2025. The Hotel is very central, ideal for Railway and Bus stations, and close to the main shopping/eating/drinking areas of the city. It is an interesting building, converted commercial premises (old STD telephone exchange) and this is reflected in the rooms (we stayed room 212) having large high windows, and the highest ceiling of any hotel room I have ever seen.|| The room itself was small, the bed very comfortable but again rather small for two (ideal for solo travellers, however). The bathroom was tiny, and the shower cubicle small enough to feel claustrophobic. The shower head was the 'fixed' type (boo) and water flow just about adequate, although temperature control was good. The soap containers for both hand basin and shower were both empty on arrival and had not been checked (we had a bar of soap which was OK for us so we never bothered to get it sorted). The cleaner always seemed to be outside our room in the morning so we got clean dry towels every day, very helpful. The room was clean and bright- the curtains in the window were difficult to control (Travelodge take note- they need poles for easy closure and opening), and were not 'blackout' effective. Note as well that the 'standard' rooms do not have a hairdryer- we asked and got one but they were in short supply apparently. No A/C but a fan provided. It was, however, functionally useless- it went round very fast but (curiously) did not provide a draught- very odd.||The Staff we met were all cheery and helpful, and the public areas clean and comfortable. There was a breakfast buffet and food in the evenings, but we did not indulge.||All in all, it is not a bad hotel by any means- it has a lot going for it, particularly location, but it is at the more 'budget' end of the spectrum, and it is very much the case of 'you get what you pay for'.

My Mum and I were treated like family by the amazing team lead by Page: Michelle, Josh, Josh and the rest.
Breakfast was excellent in terms of choice, quality. Cooking and value. I didn’t eat dinner there but Josh looked after us for drinks in the evening and the bar is pretty well stocked. Location is brilliant for local restaurants and shopping. If I need to return to Carlisle I would definitely stay there again.

Rooms where great, beds where really comfortable. Staff were amazing, one member of staff to mention was Kylie, she is an absolute credit to your team. Couldn't be more helpful and warm and friendly. Always went above and beyond to make my stay more pleasant.

My Mum and I stayed whilst my Dad was in Cumberland infirmary. Page and her team including Michelle, Josh and Josh were so kind and caring, they are like one big family and made us feel very special. Breakfast was excellent-quality, quantity and value for money. Location is excellent for shops and restaurants.

good large room, clean, facilities ok. low noise inside and outside. We had a good sleep. carpark and citycenter nearby. Breakfast was bad: old, dryed out and limited. Better go elsewhere. Happy that we had our dinner in a citycenter pub

Hotel is very central so perfect for shops & bars etc.
Rooms are big, with big windows, but hot & curtains don't keep the light or heat out so rooms are super bright early in the morning & difficult to get back to sleep.
Thinking I wad being clever, I bought a sleep eye mask for the 2nd night, only to be woken at 5.30am by the glass collecting lorry!! This didn't just wake us up but had us jumping out of our skin - it was so loud!! I wouldn't recommend staying here in the summer as the rooms are too light & too hot & 1 fan provided just isn't enough. The customer service from the staff was great & nothing was too much trouble.

Rooms were big and clean , no AC sadly but there were fans in the room. No soap though which wasn't great part way through a shower. Service was really friendly and helpful though!
