I wanted to take the time to write this review after the fantastic service I received from Jennie and Olivia when I recently stayed overnight to attend an evening meeting in Colchester. ||Jennie was very welcoming when I arrived and made me feel at ease as I was a lady travelling on my own. She went out of her way to assist me with sorting out paying for my parking when I was having difficulty. ||I did not have time to eat before my meeting and when I returned to the hotel, around 9.45pm I checked to see if I could get something to eat. Jennie checked with the kitchen and soon Olivia was serving me up a delicious hot meal. ||Both ladies made me feel that nothing was too much trouble and made my night away so much nicer. ||My room was clean, the bed was comfortable and I had everything I needed, including a cooked breakfast in the morning.||Thank you to the team at the hotel for making my trip so much more enjoyable, but particularly thank you to Jennie and Olivia. Both of you are a credit to Travelodge and I will definitely return.

Very comfy and clean hotel. The shower is brilliant, the room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable.|The staff are the main highlight here, all very welcoming and helpful. Claire in particular was very helpful and accommodating, especially when my toddler was sick.|The signal for mobile phones is hit and miss, I had enough signal on the top floor but my friend on the first floor had no signal at all and I heard this is an issue for other guests too, they do offer wifi, 30 mins free per 24hr period or £3 for 24 hours (there are other packages available for longer stays) |There is food and entertainment nearby and the town is a short bus ride away and also steps away from the football ground.|Overall great place and would recommend to stay here.

Iv stayed here alot over the last 4 months and I can not fault this Travelodge.
The staff, management, reception,cleaners are amazing.
So friendly and willing to help or just have a little chat.
The Hotel itself is very clean and well maintained.
The rooms are spot on,clean and spacious.
But the main this about this Travelodge that will make it my choice to stay is definitely the staff,they are such a credit to Travelodge,they all made my stay by far the best hotel experience iv ever experienced.
Thank you to such a wonderful team.

No shower gel in dispenser, when we advised the front desk they gave us some in a mug instead of refilling the dispenser. There was earbuds from last customers on the floor near the bin in the room. There wasn't any face towels or floor towel for the shower. Just not really the standard you would expect for more than £100 a night! On a positive note the breakfast was ok and good value for money.

The hotel equivalent of Ryanair...||||Hotel room £160 ✅️||||Dog surcharge £20 ✅️||||Parking charge despite location requiring a car £10 ✅️||||Wifi charge, despite perfect phone signal outside but mysteriously none inside ?‍♂️ £6 ✅️||||Parking fine as despite paying for parking, hotel with capacity for 100 plus guests has built parking for only 15 cars (and ofc 2 skips...) ? £35 ✅️||||Getting the hell out of there - priceless||||This hotel is symptomatic of society of late and the need to monetise all aspects of life. It should be avoided at all costs and surcharges.||||On the plus side, the staff were nice and friendly.

Still fairly new hotel, the area is just being built up and once it’s finally done will be good. Rooms are good and the bed is very comfy. ||Lots of extras but the were good value and still paying for these, the hotel was better value than other hotels in the area.

I paid for wifi as there is next to no service on EE or o2. What a waste of money. Lucky to get 5mps download and 1mps upload. I went to speak with reception/hotel manageress who basically fobbed me off and said ring virgin and deal with them direct as they supply the wifi without even offering to help. Ordered from the restaurant, (sizzling chicken) which was anything but sizzling. I've eaten cardboard with more moisture in it ?. I also ordered a side of garlic flatbread which never came. So when I spoke with the same lady as mentioned above. I asked for a refund on the garlic bread..... her reply would you like me to get it cooked for you now. No I wouldn't hence why I asked for a refund on it. On the plus side the room was clean .

The room and hotel in general was very clean. All staff were friendly and welcoming during my stay, in particular the manager Faik. I had a comfortable stay and it was quiet enough to enjoy a good night of sleep. Facilities were good and as expected.
