The room is mid tier, but so is the price. So I have to write a purely objective review based on these criteria. I slept 3 nights with my cousin and I have to tell you several important points:

The room reflects the price. The mattress is not perfect, the shower soap was brake fluid with a bleach scent, but the room was clean!

As for the location, it is excellent. You are next to East Croydon station (2 minutes walk), which allows you to get to London in 15 minutes.

The service is good, always there when needed.

If you want more comfort, pay more and go to the competition across the street, it's as simple as that.

So I put 4 stars because I literally expected all of that. Thanks !

I had a fantastic stay at Travel lodge croydon central. The room was comfortable. The staff especially Akash Vimal was very friendly and always willing to assist with a smile, making me feel truly valued as a guest. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and memorable stay.

Filthy place !!!! ||I could never stay here again! The carpets were nasty and stained, the beddings stained , the bathroom was dirty and all ceilings had several stains! The room smelled and it was cold. The worst place I’ve stayed in a long while. I will never forget this experience! It’s like a temporary housing hostel!

My husband and myself visited Travelodge recently and it was a great pleasure to meet Mr Ash in the reception. He was really welcoming and helped us to check in really quick. Great customer service, very understanding of my situation of booking last minute, and was very helpful. Was able to help me with various things aswell such as me needing to reheat food and all that. People were so nice to me aswell I could feel the Christmas festivity

Excellent service. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Room was spacious and comfortable. A bit warm and not a brilliant scent but nothing that couldn't be ignored.
Location couldn't be better. Middle of Croydon and minutes from the station

My friend in Italy booked Travelodge Croydon thought everything was fine. It took payment. She had no verification for this so she sent me a message. I'm in the UK and asked me to phone a hotel to check whether they confirmed the booking. So I phone Travelodge to check the booking only to be cut off halfway in the call because my phone has a rate cap on how much I can spend on premium calls only discover that Travelodge charge premium rates for you to call them. Even though I'm in the UK and I'm 6 miles away from them. They are charging ridiculous rates with an 'number 0871 number which is a premium number. So anybody phone in Travelodge in the UK. On your mobile you will find that you are charged a premium rate so my cap went within a matter of like 2 minutes. My cap had been used up because this is travelodges way of dealing with customers. You phone them. You have to phone a premium number which is totally disgusting it shows what they really think of their customers. And you have to go through their ultimatum system. Press one for this press two for that. So you're wasting all this money before you even get to speak to a human being? Disgusting. I will not be recommending Travelodge ever again to somebody

Basic but clean and functional rooms in a great location for commutes from East Croydon station to London. Local shopping centre and plenty of eateries within walking distance as well as ample parking in Ruskin Rd car park nearby. Friendly staff, especially the manager on duty at the time, Annette, who allowed us to check in early to pick up keys as we were out in London for the day. Would recommend 😊
