Stay in the Family room (Triple) for a night. Looks modern and clean. It was small, but expected as it is a budget hotel. Reception was great and nice! Free parking available. ||Pros:|Free parking, friendly reception, a next door Italian restaurant that serve great food, clean and modern. Pretty near to Durham city centre, about 15-20 mins walk. ||Cons:|Odd layout as it seems to be a historic building, take a while to get used to and finding your room. The shampoo and bath shower were empty and the reception kindly help us to fill up some in a cup, however the quality were bad, it seem to be just some shower gel with water added. So be prepared to bring your own if you're fussy. The down side that bother me would probably be the tub, it is VERY SLIPPERY, so be really careful. ||Overall, I would still recommend and stay here again given the price and location.

This is always my go-to place to stay over in Durham. It's absolutely no-frills but is priced accordingly and gets all the basics spot on. Spotlessly clean, spacious rooms, comfortable beds, ample free parking, close to city centre, decent shower. Given the price, you can't ask for more.

Reception staff were exceptional. Room was pleasantly spacious and clean. The weather was really bad and I had recently injured my foot, so wasn't up to much walking. The receptionist therefore kindly arranged for us to have access to and from the restaurant next door via a fire exit. She also personally prepared an unserviced room close to our ground floor room for my sister. It really was incredible service. Thank you!

I needed somewhere near the hospital to stay for one night. I couldn't have made a better choice.|The room was exactly as expected. Basic but comfortable, with everything that I needed. I had the best night's sleep that I've had for a long time. |By far the best thing about this hotel was Linda, the hotel supervisor. She ensured that I had everything that I needed, remembered my name and also checked that I was ok after I'd visited a relative in hospital.|It is somewhere that I will definitely stay again.

Firstly I would like to say walking through the door we were greeted by sienna and Abbie which was nice to have two helpful ladies as we’ve arrived from Australia and doing some touring. What I must say aswell is that for a budget hotel I can’t fault service room’s cleanliness it’s great. Then today we checked out and met Linda hotel supervisor couldn’t do enough for us. The hotel was very cheap - probably less than a youth hostel. For this reason I've given is 5*. My room was basic but functional and the bed was comfy. The room was cold but I stayed in the first week in Jan. It's also next to a main road so it was a bit noisy

Typical Travellodge. Clean and basic accommodation. The room we had was in the annex and was quite large. The lady on reception was friendly and helpful.
It is located just over half a mile from the main city center. An easy walk. There is an Italian restaurant beside it which was pleasant if a little quirky. The food was good.
We would stay here again as it offers good value and is reasonably close to the city.

This is the worst hotel I have stayed in. I have stayed in other TL hotels previously which had been comfortable and clean.||The room had a strong smell of urine that seemed to be coming from the main bedroom room. The toilet was leaking which was a separate issue to the smell. One of the white towels had stains all over it.||There was also stains on the carpet. The bedside shelf had some kind of dirty dried substance. The shower had I assume the previous guests hair on there. The desk/ table hadn't been cleaned as there was dried tea/ coffee splashes on it. The curtains visor was grey with dirt it would have been white originally! ||Good location near the city centre. However I would not recommend a stay at this hotel.
