What makes this hotel special is the staff. They all deserve a pay rise! Sharon in the kitchen made me wonderful pancakes (vegan!) even after she'd packed up (it was past 10pm). Rampa and Christalina were also incredibly helpful. At the bar I was given a small 'taster' for the Camden beer (I had a half of that - very nice). The cauliflower curry and salad were also excellent. The receptionist made sure I could borrow a hairdryer. The only thing I was a bit less happy about was the info on the hotel website about the hoppa bus - I had to ask around in the dark and cold at the airport and then wait without knowing how long for. But the hotel staff made up for that once i arrived. There is a really good work ethic and they are clearly well trained so a thumbs up to whoever is responsible for that. It's not a fancy hotel but there is a nice atmosphere. I will stay there again.

By far the best Travelodge Hotel I’ve been in.
Nice big reception area with very helpful staff.
The lifts are very clean and operational to all floors.
They have a nice large bar area with comfortable chairs plus a very well run restaurant that’s adjacent which serves wonderful meals.
I had the pleasure of eating the Steak & Ale pie with a dessert which they do as I cheaper combination offer.
Absolutely delicious.
The rooms are perfectly spotless with all you’ll need to make it a pleasant experience.
The bed was comfortable and the pillows also.
The bathroom was the cleanest I’ve ever seen in a hotel. Kuda to the cleaning team.
And the best thing is that the price was so very very reasonable.
There is a car park but you have to pay at the meter which is still £10 for 24 hours. I find extremely good value.
Will definitely be staying again.

Travelodge Gatwick is a decent option for a short stay, particularly if you're looking for something budget-friendly and conveniently close to the airport. The staff were polite and accommodating, and the check-in process was quick and straightforward. The room itself was clean, with basic amenities, and the bed was reasonably comfortable for the price point.

However, I can’t give this hotel more than 3 stars due to two significant downsides: noise and clientele. First, the noise insulation is poor. Even though I wasn’t expecting total silence in a hotel near an airport, I could hear every door slam, every conversation in the hallway, and what sounded like chairs scraping in adjacent rooms. It made it hard to get a good night’s sleep, which is essential when you're traveling.

Adding to the issue, the clientele seemed to be on the louder side during my stay. It appears that families with children are all allocated to the same floor, which unfortunately amplifies the noise. Kids running up and down the hallways and the general activity level made it even harder to relax. Despite the staff’s efforts, it seemed to go largely unchecked.

In summary, Travelodge Gatwick is OK if you need a place to crash for a night and aren’t overly sensitive to noise. But if you’re looking for a restful and peaceful stay, this might not be the best choice. Bring earplugs or consider other options.

Rooms were clean and well stocked. Largest hotel towels I've ever seen. Excellent hotel for the cost. Be aware of weird food serving hours in the evenings, it didn't seem to be consistent when they swapped to just pizza for the night. Our family enjoyed hanging out in the social area downstairs. Food was decent, drinks were good.

Friendly staff. Very helpful, spent two nights here on different days. First room the heating wasn't working but staff sent up a heater for the room.
Found hairs on the bed on pillow case and blanket, but seemed clean ( hopefully it was from the cleaners when they were changing the sheets ).

Second stay was great, The room was fine. Pizzas were delicious from the bar.

Perfect for just a night's layover for the airport.
Reasonably priced iswell.

Would stay again if needed for another layover flight.

Really good place. Its a travelodge but was above my expectations, some staff was nice the other staff by the bar was not so much. However, very affordable, good location, few minutes drive to south terminal. Clean and tidy hotel for low price at the airport.

Good stop.... Just:

Booked uprated room for quiet!

First room had a broken air con which had a musty smell. Turns out the filter needed cleaning! This was 1.30am!

Switched rooms without question. Tick.

Second room was fine. Air-conditioning worked, so warm room. Tea and coffee, bathroom good.... just basic.

Customer service good. Travel Lodge, was Travel Lodge.

Just needs an update like so many others have been.

Excellent place to stay before early morning airport departures. Our stay was so well organised. There were about a dozen of us who arrived on airport hoppa, but the queue was quickly dealt with by extremely professional check in staff.
It was quiet inside the hotel room, which was adequately equipped.
