Great location, stayed one night, hotel clean and staff are friendly plus helpfull. Went to the bar for a drink, bar seemed a bit small but was very well stocked, didnt have breakfast so cant comment on the food at the hotel. found the hotel to be relaxing after we had just completed a 5 hour journey..

This is by far the best Travelodge at which I've stayed. The service is welcoming, prompt and professional. I greatly enjoyed the evening meal and the breakfast. Alas, the Travelodge has been affected by the current Guinness drought, and this time I couldn't find any marmalade for breakfast. Yet the overall impression is one of excellence

I booked to be let into my room early i.e. at 12 noon last Sunday, but despite getting there early there were technical issues so finally got to room a bit late. I was also told that there were ‘lift issues’ that morning, but both lifts were in use so that was worrying. I wasn’t sure they were safe but had heavy bags and my room was on a top floor, so I felt I had to use them. But the worst thing was the following morning, after popping out for 10 minutes for some fresh air, I couldn’t get back into the corridor or my room, as the door key-fob was not working. Reception gave me a second one, this also didn’t work. I wasn’t sure then given two more fobs to try, this time with a lecture about my “tone” from reception. He could obviously tell I was frustrated, as was another lady with the same issue who was threatening to call HQ, but he was polite to her and rude to me. Truth is I was a bit shaken and upset. I was cut off from my valuables which were still in my room and I was probably crying. I wasn’t rude, I didn’t raise my voice or swear and if I was upset and crying a bit could he not have understood why, instead of making it personal? I’ve had at least 2 other nights here which were fine but this has put me off using Travelodge again.

We stayed here for 2 nights from 15/11/24. Parking was said to be limited, but there were several spaces available. Check-in was quick and efficient, and Manager Aaron was extremely helpful, recommending places to eat and drink. The room was clean and spacious with a great view over the park. Heating worked well and the bed was a good size with plenty of pillows. The bathroom had large towels and an efficient shower. Breakfast at £11.50 was plentiful, great quality and hot. The breakfast room was well laid out and kept spotlessly clean by Tracy and Meg who worked hard and with a smile, replenishing food and clearing tables. Both ladies went out of their way to be pleasant and helpful. We were delighted with everything. Travelodge have got it just right at this location.

Easy accessible hotel smack bang in the centre. Very clean place with the new “touch” entry cards so no having to fight with the old school “slot” system. Friendly staff and very comfortable room which was spotless.|Room had great views over Victoria Park and was very quiet. ||A couple of bad points tho|The lifts can be very slow to access and it wasn’t busy.|The parking is limited and very cramped unless you own a mini||The shower pressure was a joke tho. Have had better showers in camp sites and the max water is “warm” but not hot. Dreadful.||And a final gripe tho this is not just for this place - the full breakfast-£11.50? No travelodge its a £7.50 max breakfast. Appreciate with such low room rates, a bit of extra margin is needed but not a 15% price hike! For that I expect a top breakfast- here the bacon was like it was from the Aldi markdown section- a lump of fat with a few streaks of bacon in it. Very poor indeed.

When we checked in we were given a room that wasn’t cleaned and obviously still had someone in there. We were reroomed fairly quickly but still an inconvenience. When we came back to the hotel to check out, we were locked out of our rooms and had to sort that out too! Room was fine but lots of faffing about having to sort things out that shouldn’t happen!

I’ve left a detailed review on Tripadvisor and it received a really rude and dismissive response from the Hotel Manager and it all makes sense now. Beds were uncomfortable and caused back pains to me and my husband, pillows were also uncomfortable. Receptionist sent us to 2 rooms we did not book and on the third visit to the reception after a LONG journey, with a small baby, they gave us the correct room as per my booking. The supervisor also stated they don’t have a single king size bed in that hotel which I questioned since it’s on their building posters and on their website. Pure incompetence. The hotel and its staff will only be as good as the person leading it and so I’ve rated this review 1 star for that reason. It is evident the hotel manager is incompetent in his role and most probably a bully. His staff were much better than him for sure as they apologised for their mistakes and offered complementary breakfast to make up for it. In the response the manager questions why they even did that - it is called good customer service. He also stated I booked a family room and that’s why I received a family room - again pure incompetence and lying at this point as I have my booking in email stating I booked a double, not family or disabled access, which is the second room they tried to put me in. Overall terrible experience, terrible management clearly. However, excellent location. But you get what you pay for and I won’t be making that mistake again.
