A first class cafe well worth seeking out and so close to Croston 🚂as well (It’s well signposted) Menu changes throughout the day, seek out the breakfast wrap - it was delicious.
There’s also a great outdoor area when the weather allows.

It's a great cafe off the beaten track next to a lake.
There is plenty of seating outside so people can enjoy the views. Each of the outside bench tables is equipped with parasols, just in case the sun comes out.
There is also plenty of seating inside the cafe.
Service was quick and friendly.
Once you have placed your order, you are given a wooden spoon with a number on it, and your food will then be brought to your table. Before you leave, the counter you have a little wait while they make your drink. Then you just find a place to sit and relax.
Within a few minutes, my food arrived.
My bill came to £6.50 for a bap with veggie sausages and a large americano. Both were excellent, and at that price, great value for money..
It was, and I believe it is regularly very busy with cyclists.
When I visited, I would say it was 50/50 with cyclists and non cyclists, and it is to see why the place was busy.
In my opinion, it is one of the best cafes I have been to for quite some time.

Seems to run at the heart of the local bicycle community.
Cakes looked good and from signage may have made an appearance on hairy bikers.
We opted for the full English Breakfast.
My 16 year old remarked, did you order the small?
So not as hearty as planned.
Must say bacon was especially tasty.
Most places include a drink with a full English which is not the case here.
The coffee was good and well presented.
Overall it is a good cafe.
I would go to several other local places in preference.

A warm welcome awaits at the Velo Cafe. John and Julie are exceptional hosts. A hot Latte to wash down a tasty packed white barm filled with sausage and thick cut back bacon. YUM. This is a hidden gem AND you don’t even need a bike to enjoy a moment to rest after a long walk. 👍

Great place. Hidden gem tucked away just outside of Croston. Popular with cyclists and has some of the best photo art on the walls. Food is lovely, nicely cooked. Service is great and they even have beers in the summer when you can sit outside and gaze out on the lakes. Highly recommended.

The Lady serving food in the kitchen is totally abrupt and unprofessional, giving what I think is a great little cafe a really bad name, she refuses to serve food if she’s had a busy ‘morning’, the rest of the younger staff seem very on edge around her. Basically if you want food other than cakes and drinks, make sure you get in there at least 2 hours before they shut, it’s happened to us now on several occasion's. Rude, rude person who clearly needs to sort her attitude out, pathetic to say the least, shame as the food and drink and setting is lovely, I won’t be back again EVER

Fantastic little cafe. 5 Stars for its category. It's not a restaurant. Very simplistic but good country menu & food. Don't go expecting a high grade restaurant experience, it's a cafe after all. Very scenic location. Service and staff was great. Prices average for a cafe. Only downside is it's very popular, especially with the lycra clad, pedal power brigade.

Some of the worst sausages I've ever tasted; full of large lumps of gristle and tasteless. They also need to invest in branded tomato and brown sauce as my children's sandwiches were made inedible by them (I tried them too and couldn't not agree)
