I visited for Sunday lunch.
The bar area is clean and inviting. The decor is purple and grey, very pleasing.
The carvery is quite small but adequate unless there is a queue for food then it's very cramped, especially while you select your dressing.
The food is excellent quality with a good selection of 5 meats and vegetables. They were also the best roast potatoes I've ever had at a carvery.
This was followed by cheesecake which was also delicious.

Stayed in suite 10 for one night, it was ready early and we were allowed late checkout too. Staff were lovely and really helpful, the rooms were really spacious and clean, lovely terrace too! Bed was really comfortable and massive. Fan provided in the room. Bar and restaurant were lovely and the breakfast was fantastic with a lovely selection. Close to the car boot as literally next door! Don't be put off by the motorway noise as there was none! Will definitely stay again

Situated in a very rural location with fields around and views toward Bolsover and it’s castle.
Just of the M1 junction 29 so yes you do hear the motorway but didn’t find this a problem because of the tranquil location. Originally a row of colliery cottages which has been sympathetically restored to a hotel. Full of character and original charm. Well maintained, decorated and looked after. I stayed 3 nights and found it very comfortable. Has a breakfast room, restaurant, lounge bar etc. really liked the food, good choice of menu and caters for various dietary including gluten intolerance, which I am. Is organised to be able to cater for commercial travellers, visitors and weddings. Good and free parking. So close to all of the sights in the area Bolsover Castle, Hardwick Hall, Haddon Hall, Chatsworth and of course Chesterfield with its twisted towering church spire. Has a beer garden. Staff were great. Downside, well suppose the bathroom was a little small but would be more than happy to stay at the Twin Oaks again.

A fantastic place with beautiful rooms in a lovely location.

We had a meal on the evening and it was amazing. The server was amazing and attended to all of our needs.

The service was excellent.

My only criticism was that when trying to sleep you hear every door close and you hear other guest going to bed.

I am a light sleeper so I guess that may explain why.

I had bangers & mash. Substantial & very tasty. Well kept beer to complement. Very clean & efficient service by cheerful staff. Reasonable prices. Good parking facilities for disabled motorists- near the reception door. Highly recommended.

Some staff were great. Reception was outstanding.
Hotel bar closed before 10:30pm despite there being staff available.
The local car boot was a real pain for traffic. And the truck yard was no better with reversing trucks kicking up dust all the time.
Room was cramped and the short bed was uncomfortable. But it was clean.

Just spent the evening in the restaurant for a Valentine's Day meal with my wife. We had a fantastic time with top class food, looked after by Lauren and all staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Lauren had special drinks made for my wife who didn't want alcohol based drinks. She was so attentive and ultra polite and professional. The meal was amazing, have to say my steak was cooked to perfection. The unexpected chocolate dipped strawberries and homemade chocs were gorgeous. Thank you so much . Has to be our favourite place for a romantic night out. Highly recommended 👌

5 out of 5 is well deserved.|Plenty of parking |Helpful and friendly reception |The room is comfortable,a good bed and pillows, well decorated clean and tidy.|Bathroom is ok and functional clean and well kept|The bar area is comfortable and a nice place to relax |The restaurant area is clean and the food was delicious and there was enough without being greedy;-)|We didn’t have breakfast |But we did have the Sunday carvery where the food was plentiful and very nice plenty of meat and a big yorkie |We had 4 nights here and each night we slept well and the hotel was quiet |We will be back as I like this place
