We enjoyed an overnight stay in a, definitely quaint, room above the main bar: the twin room is small but well-equipped, sloping floors, and ill-fitting (listed?) windows (with one cracked pane). Initial impressions of the pub not so good, given a noisy extractor fan dominating the rear parking area and entrance. The cooked breakfast was excellent, with a modest continental buffet alongside. Dinner though was disappointing, with a very limited menu on a Sunday evening (just two roast choices left, plus one burger); the quality didn't justify the price. But staff were excellent throughout - welcoming and efficient. And some excellent walking up on to the Downs from the door.

We stayed for one night and felt welcome from the moment we arrived. The warm and friendly atmosphere immediately set the tone for a wonderful experience. The highlight was the stunning open log fire, which added such a cozy charm to our visit. The food was delicious, and the service was truly exceptional—attentive, friendly, and professional. We couldn't have asked for more. Thank you for making our stay so memorable; we look forward to visiting again!

My wife and I spent a wonderful couple of nights staying at The White Hart. |The room was furnished to a high standards, and full of thoughtful touches that differentiated it from many run of the mill establishments.|The pub and restaurant are more than just dog friendly, our dog was positively welcomed.|Menu had a few vegan options which was welcomed.|Above everything was the service and friendliness of Mike, Shannon and Lyn, and the rest of the team, who went out of their way to give us a relaxing and enjoyable stay.|We look forward to returning again soon.

Lovely find, comfortable stay, excellent dinner, friendly staff.|We wanted to break our journey from Kent down to Portsmouth so looked for pubs with rooms en route. Very happy to have stumbled upon the White Hart. |Fantastic evening meal (the squid beautifully spiced, the burger handmade, the honeycomb and raspberry sorbet just perfect to end) and a very comfortable room.|Excellent shower, good breakfast and all sub £100. You don’t see that very often these days.

South Harting is a charming village and the White Hart inn is a delightful place to stay. The rooms are very comfortable and well equipped, the staff are very friendly and helpful and the chef is excellent! The breakfasts are to die for and lunch was one of the best meals we’ve ever had in a pub. Definitely recommended.

Having spent three nights on the Isle of Wight we thought it would nice to add a extra night on our way home. What a great find by chance. This is a great pub that offers excellent food and accommodation. We stayed in room one. Fabulous but very low beams. The staff were both friendly and helpful and made our stay and evening memorable. As a locals pub they also were welcoming to us holiday makers. This off the beaten track in many ways but so worth the visit. ||We enjoyed our evening meal, although the portions were to say the least hearty. Well worth the visit if you’re in the area

A very pleasant stay here.|The whole place felt very well maintained and had the atmosphere of a cosy traditional inn but with a luxurious bistro type feel as well.|I wish we had eaten dinner here as the menu looked good and I think the good would have been excellent based on dishes I saw coming out of the kitchen.|Our breakfast was good quality and comprehensive - but not cheap, however it was fair value for money.|Staff were very professional and friendly and it had the feel of a very well run establishment by a team that really know what they are doing - nothing was too much trouble and our needs were accommodated without a blink.|Our room felt luxurious with various extras and overall it considerably exceeded our expectations. It was spotlessly clean with comfy beds and good quality linen.|I would certainly stay here again and look forward to doing so.

The highlight of the stay was the room which was well equipped clean and cosy. Really disappointed with the restaurant though. Service was poor and food not much better. Ordered chicken breast with colcannon mash and a red wine jus. What I actually got was chicken breast, mashed potato, cabbage, carrots and gravy. The other meal was the haddock and chip with minted pea puree and although the fish was good the batter was over cooked, burnt and not very pleasant. As for the service there was no water on the table or offered despite there being water glasses on the table. When we had finished the main course we waited quite a long time but even though the restaurant wasn`t busy nobody came to clear the plates or offer the desert menu. At this point we left and for the rest of our stay we ate elsewhere.|Would I stay here again yes|Would I eat here again no
