Liked: Peace and quiet. Large field with basic facilities - clean portaloos, water and complimentary tea and coffee with a flask of hot water provided. Fire pits available, logs available via text and delivered to the tent ! Amazing views. We were unlucky with the weather but still enjoyed getting away from it all for a couple of nights.

Lovely location with great views.
Only downside is now that it is low season there’s a compost toilet rather than the 2 portaloos that are usually there.
Still a firm favourite for camping though!

Excellent back to basics camping field, in a peaceful location. Lovely well kept grass field. Views to die for over the Tyne Valley. Pitch was good and level. Pitches are so well spaced out you don't notice the other campers. Dogs absolutely loved it as they were able to amble about untethered. Owners are really friendly. Facilities are very basic there is a portaloo and a long walk to the water tap, but this is what we wanted. Myself and the hounds look forward to returning.

Liked: We stayed in the gravel EHU pitches. Really lovely views, accessible to the tourist attractions of the raiders road, red deer hide and grey mares tail.

Nicely maintained toilets and lovely hot showers.

Really lovely, friendly owners who popped by every morning to check we were ok and if we needed anything.

Disliked: Not the sites fault at all but the Midgies were not great. We just were not prepared for them so bring bug spray!

Liked: The view was amazing, site was exactly what we were looking for. Nice and quiet with a few portable toilets and a lovely pub down the road

Disliked: Grass was Abit too long, we stayed as a couple to test out our new tent but brought our kids for the day and it wasn't ideal for them to play but it wouldn't stop us coming back as we're aware it was the start of the season.

Great campsite, helpful and friendly owners and lovely clean toilets. The views of the valley are gorgeous. What more could you ask for?

Liked: Beautiful views, pitches were spaced out so plenty of privacy, handy having a fire pit on each patch, and the pub was less than a 2minute walk.

We will definitely be back again 🙂
