Great hotel. Everything you need in a good location. Decent shower and comfy bed, TV with Sky Sports, access to fan and heating and a window that opens a bit so you can get fresh air. Good tea/coffee making facilities. Really impressed with Joe in the bar, he was working so hard and so helpful. Good drinks and food. Would return.

I recently stayed at this hotel on a business trip. The staff were all SUPER friendly and welcoming. The hotel is modern and clean with a really great gym (it is a public member gym so can get busy) and the pub and restaurant were also great. Recommended.

One of the best Village Hotels I have been to. Polite welcome, great gym and pool staff, superb room. The room is cosy with a huge bed, amazing bathroom and lots of mirrors and lighting. The gym is great! Especially if you are a Village Gym regular, it is super easy to fall into your usual gym routine. Very good machines and super clean. The water stations are cool 🤣🥳 Pool was very busy with a class, but there were two lanes for swimming so that was great! Super clean changing rooms as well!

Spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at the hotel (x2 nights) to see family in Portsmouth. ||Admittedly we were not at the hotel much as family activities took place at family home and used the hotel just for bed/sleeping. ||Generally a good hotel, staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was pretty good and good choice of drinks as well as a Starbucks for coffees. ||The room itself (a Clubroom) was ok, but main disadvantages are:||- Lack of windows, only one window in the bathroom and its very small. This means there is very little natural light coming through (even if it is winter) so the room is incredibly dark or you have to use your lights a lot. ||- Temperature/climate control was set and couldn't be controlled by the guests, this meant it got quite hot a stuffy in the room. There is a Dyson fan, but its not great a blowing cold/cool air. ||- Bathroom/shower/toilet has little privacy, it is only separate by a thin see-through glass wall so you can see directly into someone using the toilet or shower. There is a weird feature to make the glass 'misty' but its pretty useless as you can hear everything in the bathroom and the door is still clear glass. Please could you separate the bathroom and bedroom with a wall and soundproof it.

Great staff and very helpful. A couple of functions meant we couldn't get a table for food one night 1. On night 2 we managed to get in, but in Starbucks. Food was good though. Unfortunately the fire alarm went off at 10:30pm and we couldn't get back to sleep so just packed up and drove the 4 hours home. Can't fault the service of staff though.

Nicely appointed hotel with decent facilities. The heating system in the rooms is odd, with a normal thermostatically controlled system that seemingly only cools the room and a Dyson heater to heat, which really is not up to the job. Glass panels on the bathroom too, why?! No plug sockets by the bed.
Breakfast was really disappointing! I asked for 4 poached eggs and was told I am only allowed 2! I said my colleague wanted 2 also so could we have 4. The waitress came over to my colleague to check I wasn’t lying! 😂 I told her how ridiculous a 2 egg per person rule is but offered to pay extra for 2 more so I could have my routine 4. This was not allowed she told me.
Absolutely ridiculous policy and enough for me to always stay anywhere but a Village again!

Very well appointed hotel.
Rooms are a tad small but saying that, the rooms have everything you need except a small fridge. All the amenities are perfect.

Awesome reception staff we arrived early and the last could see we were tired and was able to check us in early. Very happy with the service.

The gym is amazing has everything you could want.

Location isn't the best as it's a bit of a walk to anything. But if you just need a bed and you got a car it's ideal.

Disappointing experience considering the hotel has four stars. After we reported problems with the heating and the kettle being dirty, we were made to change rooms but the same problems also existed in the next room we were assigned. The room had good decor and the hotel probably had good ratings only because of the location.
