I booked this hotel without checking the Google reviews, which I never usually do. I was disappointed as the rooms don't look quite as advertised on booking.com, I would say the once looked like that but are now worn, in need of a paint and refresh and a very good deep clean.
On the whole it was clean enough, clean sheets and bathroom but there was mould around the windows, bath edges and it was dusty. We were only here for one night and it was cheaper than most hotels we looked at in that area so we were happy to stay.
We wouldn't stay here again and definitely wouldn't recommend it, pay a little extra and go somewhere else, it would be worth it.

It's a shame, with a deep clean and an update, it could be lovely!

Polite staff but the hotel isn't great.

The location just invites drunks and loud people from the nearby clubs who make noise coming and going throughout the night. We practically had no toilet roll in our bathroom.

The walls and floors are thin and the rooms could do with a little more dusting. The shower was decent, though. We like that.

I suppose it was okay for the one night we stayed there. Wouldn't go again, though.

Horrible. Don’t trust the photos. Don’t waste your money. Find somewhere better for cheaper, there’s plenty around. If you don’t mind grimy rooms and there’s nothing else around then it will work. We ended up booking another hotel as we just did not feel safe and we were so disgusted by our room. On our way up, two other people walked in with seemingly no passes and knocked on someone’s room. Due to having no peep holes either, the person inside had no choice to open the door. When we complained at check out, my partner was told that the guys manager wasn’t there at the time to be able to issue the refund and he would need to write to my partner once he arrived. When my partner pushed to say that the establishment was advertised as 4 star but was CLEARLY not, the gentleman agreed with him. When my partner then got an email, it was the same guy stating that because we didn’t raise the problem sooner we weren’t entitled to a refund. So not only are they dishonest, they do not care about the safety of the people staying, and they realise themselves that this isn’t advertised appropriately. Avoid this hotel at all costs.

I stayed here recently and was shocked by how filthy and poorly managed this hotel is. From the moment we stepped in, the problems started. The elevator reeked of weed, and once we got to our room, the situation didn’t improve. The bathroom had a strong moldy odor, making it almost unbearable to use. The room itself was covered in dust—clearly, cleanliness is not a priority here.

We asked the front desk to store some of our belongings while we went out, only to return and find one of our items missing. They claimed to have reviewed the CCTV footage, yet somehow, nothing suspicious was “seen,” despite the camera facing the front desk. This felt very sketchy, and it seemed like they were just trying to avoid responsibility.

The staff offered a free late checkout, but honestly, it didn’t make up for how uncomfortable, unsafe, and neglected this place felt. Poor management, lack of cleanliness, and an overall dodgy vibe make this a place I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. If you’re looking for a safe, clean, and reliable hotel, avoid this one at all costs.

On top of everything else, the safety here was seriously concerning. Anyone could easily access the building, as there were no visible security measures, and staff didn’t seem to monitor who came and went. The fact that items went missing from the front desk and the staff couldn’t—or wouldn’t—provide any clear CCTV footage only made things worse. It felt like the hotel didn’t care about guest security, leaving us feeling uneasy the entire stay. I genuinely didn’t feel safe here, and I would advise others to stay somewhere more secure.

Perfect for a one night stay. Everything as advertised. Pretty near to everything you need, shops a few mins away. Seen reviews regarding noise but we really didn’t have a problem with noise. Nice staff on reception. Lift up to reception look a little dodgy but didn’t have any problems. You can access the stairs from the inside if needed. Aircon / heating works well in room

Had a very unsatisfactory stay for our employee. Terrible hotel.

To make matters worse, they charged our guy at the hotel after taking payment through pre-booking and, despite them "looking into it", they have never issued a refund - so fraudulent as well as being a terrible hotel. 4 star.... yeah right!

Wonderful experience. I will definitely stay here again. Not sure why there are so many negative reviews here and on other sites? The only negative from my experience would be that there is no breakfast available, but Wetherspoons is just across the street and the hotel has a deal with the cafe next door where you can get a discounted full English or continental breakfast, so no complaints.

AVIOID AVOID
stayed here recently and was shocked by how filthy and poorly managed this hotel was it smelt disgusting. The reception is on floor 3 and never manned had to go looking over the hotel to find someone. When I did get hold of someone they were casually chilling in a room. I think this is a family run hotel that is ran poorly the reception stunk of samosas and Bad bodily hygiene.

The room itself was covered in dust—clearly, cleanliness is not a priority here. The air on was on the coldest but blew hot air we was told that it's all linked across the same floor on one system and we couldn't have it on cold air which we found very odd so they brought us a fan. Then when we came to shower the was no hot water we told them at 10pm as we were going to a family party we rang multiple times to which they came back to us after 12 and said we could change rooms.... highly unacceptable.

The staff offered a free late checkout, but wouldnt discount the price we paid but honestly, it didn’t make up for how uncomfortable, unsafe, and neglected this place felt. Poor management, lack of cleanliness, and an overall dodgy vibe make this a place I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. If you’re looking for a safe, clean, and reliable hotel, avoid this one at all costs.
