This gym has really gone downhill recently. They don't invest money into new equipment. It's absolutely filthy everywhere. Most weight machines have started to rust and in need of deep cleaning. Reception staff is unfriendly and don't make you feel welcome and the worst part is that they have a cheek to increase membership prices on regular basis.
I've been coming here for many years and I'm very disappointed with the state of this gym.

The Virgin gym in Chelmsford is a very friendly place. From the manager Chrissi to the receptionist Lauren you’re greeted with a smile and a hello. The coaches are excellent and professional and also approachable and friendly too. There is a variety of classes at all levels and a lovely cafe to visit as well. All the staff make this a pleasant and comfortable place to be as you exercise.

I recently joined to Virgin Active in Chelmsford and very happy with that so far. I only use the pool facilities, it's always clean and well maintained. Very friendly staff also.

I really like this gym, it's always clean, it smells nice, people who work are respected, the machines are ok, the saunas and the pool always have crystal clear and clean water.
I recommend this gym!

One of the managers was extremely rude to my mum. As an elderly woman going to the gym for her mental health this woman made her cry. All because she asked for assistance and was met with arrogance and mocking. Do not recommend.

Great Gym. Nice atmosphere with plenty of equipment and good personal trainers. Loads of inspirational classes too.
Management are happy and encouraging. Reception staff helpful and friendly. Enjoy going here regularly.
