Lovely private park, that my family are very lucky to have a caravan sited at. The park itself is a 15 minute off-road walk to West Wittering beachfront, but the village also has a collection of shops and places to eat, without need for a car or long legs.

Well maintained, beautifully quiet park.

Just to say that SAB’s review of the hired caravan had me in stitches. It reads like a fly-on-the-wall documentary of a really miserable experience. Brilliant!

Only had a flying visit to the area as we were visiting family in the area, the caravan park was peaceful and well maintained.

We spent the afternoon at West Wittering Beach which was just a short walk from here.

I am sure if you are an owner on this site you would be very happy but I rented the one caravan that is for hire direct from Holdens and have had the most traumatic experience.
On the day of arrival there was no one about to welcome us or show us around the caravan. The key had been left inside. We had timed our arrival so my partner could watch the FA Cup Final which was on TV. There was no TV remote and no instructions on how to work it manually. So he missed the match. We spoke to the site manager Nick and told him there was no remote and he said the cleaners usually leave it in front of the TV. He said he would arrange for a replacement the following day. He left a new remote outside the caravan on the following morning. Assuming it would work we never tried it to Sunday evening. The remote never worked. I left numerous messages for Nick on the voicemail of the only contact number we had for him but we remained TV less for the second night. I gave up on Nick by the middle of day 3 and directed my call to the head office who were great and arranged a replacement TV within the hour. I also told them about the cleanliness and the stairs feeling unsafe. I wish we could of spoken direct to them on Saturday and/or Sunday but unfortunately there was nobody in the office at the weekend. On arrival it was obvious that the property had had the barest of cleans. The hoover was not even put back in its cupboard. The trays in the oven/grill were filthy. One full of thick bacon or sausage fat. A really poor job by anyone’s standards. The pillows are rotten. Brown stains. The same with the bedding. It’s really unacceptable. We was lucky that we brought our own otherwise we would of been so disappointed. The cleanliness issue was initially raised with Nick along with our concerns about the stairs in to the property when we called and spoke to him about the TV having No remote. He said he would speak to the cleaners about the cleanliness but no action was ever taken to come in and reclean. He said the stairs were rickety but safe. We said they look and feel like they will collapse but he reassured us that they were fine. We used only the right side as the left side had a large crack in the support.
When the chap brought the replacement TV around we told him that the stairs appeared by feel to be getting worse. They moved from side to side as we climbed them. It felt very unsafe. My partner is disabled and walks with a stick most days so it was a real worry every time we used them. Sadly this evening (Day 4) as we were leaving to go to have a meal at a local restaurant the stairs broke as my partner came down them. He fell and He has really hurt his back neck and shoulders. He also got a real whack on his ankle. This meant we were unable to get back in the caravan. We called Nick’s number and head office and left messages and after about half an hour a smashing chap called Richard came along and replaced the broken steps with another set. The replacement steps are not an exact fit but they are better then nothing. To allow the door to close the replacement steps are a hop across in to the caravan but with some effort my partner made it back in. I’m not sure he will venture out these last three days as he feels uneasy now and he is in lots of pain. He had to call NHS direct because of the pain. I suggest if anyone is coming to rent this caravan numbered 147 that they make sure before they arrive that the caravan has had better steps fitted because although these replacements are just about acceptable for now they most certainly are not good enough for daily use. I don’t think I have ever experienced anything quite like this and I feel most upset and disappointed and dissatisfied.
I will be taking this up with the head office tomorrow. I just hope my partner manages to get some sleep because as I write this he is in terrible pain and discomfort. The caravan site is lovely and peaceful it’s just the poor quality and upkeep of this one rental caravan that I am commenting on.
