We booked a 1 night deal to include 2 course dinner and breakfast. The location is beautiful and has large grounds. Accommodation is either in the outbuildings or country house itself. After being a little disappointed with our room we asked if we could upgrade to a better room. The lovely lady on the help desk gave us a room in the county house. It was huge and very comfortable. Bar and restaurant were great. We enjoyed our 2 course dinner service was just a little slow but we didn’t really mind. Pool was great but it was quiet I can imagine it gets a little crowded at peak times. Breakfast was really good too. Staff we encountered were all great. Overall a really nice stay and we would return to Walton Hall.

This was a nice hotel, located in a very rural location, extremely quiet and plenty of parking. The reception staff were 100%, couldn't do enough to check us in and make us feel welcome. The room was really warm (mid winter), and we had a private balcony. The breakfast gave us a huge choice of what we wanted, absolutely everything. Evening meal was very good and the staff were superb in serving us. Our room had everything we needed including internal and tea coffee. Close to all major towns and even a great Saturday massive market close by. This was a nice stay, we didn't use the pool facilities as we didn't have time plus being winter, but available if we did. I even heard an owl at night time!!.

I recently had a disappointing experience at Walton Hall Hotel & Spa during our afternoon tea. We were looking forward to this treat after a spa morning, especially since I had informed the restaurant about a serious nut allergy affecting one of our guests. I reached out ahead of time, as instructed in the booking confirmation, and was assured that the kitchen would be made aware.

However, when we arrived for afternoon tea, we were told by our waitress that everything on the menu contained nuts. After questioning this, she went to consult the chef & returned without a solution, asking if we were genuinely allergic, which felt dismissive. There was no apology or acknowledgment of our serious concern, & we were offered an alternative lunch menu instead, which was not what we expected.

When we reiterated the allergy situation, we were informed that the reception staff do not communicate with the chef. This was quite alarming, especially given the seriousness of the allergy. In the end, we were provided with a limited selection of finger sandwiches & fruit, which felt inadequate considering the situation & the price we paid for the afternoon tea.

We left without having eaten anything, feeling frustrated & disappointed. This experience was not what we had hoped for, & I believe it highlights a significant lapse in customer care regarding dietary restrictions, especially when I believe it is the law to provide allergy alternatives. It really felt like it wasn't taken seriously and we were made to feel stupid for being upset! I hope this feedback helps improve the service for future guests.

I have taken a week to decide if I should leave this complaint or not.

But, after much thought have decided to put my complaint in and hopefully recevie some compensation for a not so nice 50th birthday gift from my son.

Got to the hotel - check in enquired about resturants close to the hotel for dinner was told that we were far from anything so basically only the hotel resturant was available. I had added £25 per person option for dinner already to my booking but looking at the reviews already by other guests wanted other options

Asked to see the menus was given two. When said I would choose when we went to the resturant that evening was told no had to decide there and then and pay. I thought that was very forceful but went went with the option £25 per person for 2 courses.

Booked into our hotel room....no towels had to request 3 times for towels to be brought to the room eventually found a cleaner that was still cleaning the floor and asked him for bath towels which he brought straight away.

Then went to the spa which was included in the woucher as that is why my son choose this hotel. To be told sorry not included and we had to pay £10 each to use the facilities. When we said no it was included they said sorry it was not. By then other guests were coming down and we were so embarrassed and my partner was fumming we left.

Something my son paid for and we were not allowed to use the facility if we did not pay more.....how wrong is this.

Went to dinner at 7pm.

Bar staff got drink order mixed up... took 35 minutes to correct as other staff were bringing cocktails back from other guests saying that the cocktails were awful and wanted their money back.

Went to dinner....understaffed. So waited hours for staff to take orders. They were rude, unprofessional in taking orders. Starters came was alright. Mains took 30 minutes to arrive the steak was awful, no seasoning, small, dead overcooked and for additional £13.50 charge not worth the money at all . The fish was undercooked and the additional 2 x onion rings ordered never appeared even asking for them twice. Finally went to the manager asked him for the onion rings said he would get them they arrived after our dinner plates had been taken already so sent them back.

Requested desert which for additional £8 per person well McDonalds servings are bigger and better.

Whilst sitting in the resturant we were not the only ones complaining about cost of food, bad quality, staff rudeness, cocktails awful, their experience at the spa. One person had driven 3 hours to be told their was no spa booking ie massages etc and they could not fit them in. Even though they had confirmation of the booking.

Breakfast we waited 20 minutes no staff around so just walked and seated ourselves
Breakfast was not bad at all. But still no staff around.

Again other guests complaining.

My 50th birthday gift from my son was not a good experience or time away

After staying at Walton, I must express my disappointment with the condition of the facilities and the quality of the rooms. Having experienced many four-star hotels, this establishment does not meet the expectations typically associated with that rating, aside from its stunning natural surroundings, which are truly beautiful and arguably the only positive aspect of my experience.

I stayed in a standard room and understand that I cannot expect the luxuries offered in more expensive accommodations. However, the rooms felt outdated and worn; they lacked the "luxury" ambiance found in other four-star hotels, even in their standard offerings. Additionally, I was not fond of the bathtub, which I believe should be replaced with a high-quality shower, as is common in most luxury hotels.

I also missed having a proper lounge or reading room where one could relax, enjoy a book, or simply reflect on one's thoughts without being surrounded by people eating and drinking in the bar area.

The breakfast was satisfactory, but the dinner menu left much to be desired. I would recommend temporarily closing this hotel for thorough renovations to ensure that its facilities can match the picturesque environment and the four-star rating it claims. Until then, I cannot recommend Walton Hotel.

We stayed for three nights again at this well located hotel that is set well back from the main road and near to attractions in the area. Very spacious and well appointed bedroom. Reception check in and out was great. Additional heater in the bedroom was needed from the external drafts from door/window frame. Bedroom doors could do with soft closes - very noisy from other bedrooms slamming/shuddering the bedroom early in the morning and evening. Evening meals were great and breakfast was fine.

The venue was well placed for access to Warwick and the Cotswolds and the accommodation and swimming pool were good/very good. Breakfast excellent too. My only minor grumble that I was asked to pay a £10 supplement (on top of my preordered paid for voucher for 2 courses) on chicken supreme which was anything but. It was merely mediocre quality chicken and chips and never worth the additional money. Staff friendly but didn’t explain hotel meal times or invite comments when I left. Hence this post.

The room was nice an warm when I arrived. Everything you needed for a comfortable stay was in the room the beds were comfortable the bathroom was a good size,
I had a meal in the restaurant I choose the chicken pizza with peppers it was homemade it was very nice and I could only manage half I then had the waffles with icecream to be honest the waffle was tiny and the ice cream was lovely not the cheap stuff.
The breakfast in the morning had a great selection on.
ALL the staff were great all friendly and very helpful had a lovely stay and would return, I used the pool which was nice but the changing rooms could do with an update only one cubicle in use.
Great value I bought a deal off Groupon.
