My partner, myself and our Golden Retriever Freddie spent four days at this wonderful gem a few weeks ago.

We stayed in Willow lodge number 40 and wow what an amazing experience from the moment we arrived. The lodge itself was simply beautiful, so clean and our dog was even welcomed with a wonderful doggy welcome pack.

We arrived on the Friday and so very fortunate to have arrived on chip van day. The fish and chips were amazing! I had the gluten free battered cod and oh my goodness it was the nicest I’ve ever had. The reception staff were also very lovely and welcoming. The walk around the site was perfect for our dog with little footpaths for him to sniff around.

We went for relax and recuperation before the madness of Christmas and we were certainly blessed with that on this beautiful tranquil and quiet site. If however you wanted more to do then there’s plenty with Wareham and Poole so close.

We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be back. The lodges and site itself are simply beautiful. Just a little tip as my partner didn’t think there was a frying pan in the lodge……it is located in the drawer under the oven!

Thank you so much to all the staff for our wonderful stay.

We did a Monday - Friday break in the half term holidays. On the way down, we were called to say our lodge was ready earlier than the 4pm check in time.|Arrival was straight forward, your licence plate is loaded on to the entrance gate so it automatically opens for you, we pulled over and collected our keys from reception who were friendly and polite.|We were in Lodge 50 which was an Alder 4 Premier sleeping up to eight people and was pet friendly. |I was worried reading some reviews where they said lodges were dirty, linen not clean, not enough towels, not enough crockery etc but I’m happy to say the lodge was warm, clean and there was ample towels and equipment for the family. Great water pressure and hot water was plentiful.|We had a lodge with a hot tub which was amazing. It was super clean and had a decent cover for when not in use. We ended every evening in there - blissful. |We only had a couple of minor gripes - we were at the end of a row, surrounded by trees which - at first - seemed awesome, but we soon realised we had a relatively busy road directly behind us which did cause some noise. |A suggestion would be to provide an additional bin bag and indication where the main bins were so we could empty it. Also, for pet friendly lodges, a poo bin wouldn’t go amiss. The retreat indicates it wants guests to recycle, but again no obvious place to do so.|As mentioned, we had a hot tub - it would have been good to know that the maintenance man comes every day at 9am to test the water etc - we got a surprise on our first morning when we were hanging out in our PJs…also drove the dogs a little berserk.|All in all, we really enjoyed our visit - it was a great base for days out around Dorset. We visited Weymouth, Kimmeridge Bay, Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door during our time there. There are plenty of shops and restaurants close by.|I’d highly recommend Wareham Forest Lodge retreat to anyone and hope to visit again soon.

Well what a lovely cabin we stayed in clean and comfortable, well equipped kitchen large fridge freezer. The beds were clean and comfy. As for the hot tub it was lush so relaxing even though we had to contend with storm Bert we didn’t let it spoil our time in it 😆 The only thing we could think of that would of made our stay better would be a canopy structure over the hot tub like some of the other Hoseasons accommodations we just used shower caps to keep the rain away this time 😂 Thank you for a great stay.

I have just returned home with my mum and son for my mums birthday, we spent 4 nights in Lodge 30. It was our first time staying here and we absolutely loved it. Reception ladies were so lovely as well as other staff and no question asked was an Issue. The lodge was very clean and spacious and the interior of the lodge was very relaxing and quiet. Our last evening (Thursday) we had a fish and chip van visit onsite which was very enjoyable too. We also really enjoyed the little walk path behind our lodge that you can access through the gate at the back of the site. Will definitely be returning again. Thank you guys, see you again soon 🙂

Beautiful place just disappointed that they haven't accommodated to our needs, they knew on our booking we had a child and yet we only had one bed, so one of us spent the entire stay on the sofa, which wasn't comfortable, the bed was awful was like sleeping on bricks. The woman at reception was not helpful when i asked for an extra duvet she wasnt impressed and said you havent got more people then beds have you, which obviously we did and she knew it, went over to housekeeping and was moaning that i had asked she was doing the whole chatty thing with her hand and didn't realise i had seen her, the supervisor for housekeeping was lovely and was really helpful. The washer/dryer stopped working on the 2nd day, one handyman was really helpful and said he'd sort it in the morning, which was then sorted on day 4 and replaced. If you decide to stay here make sure they sort your accommodation properly, we paid alot for a really poor service, won't be returning. Their supposed to be child friendly and my child manager to escape because there was no gate on the "patio" unlike 98% of the other lodges. The WiFi is shocking! Only good thing was the dishwasher and the location of the retreat!!

We stayed in lodge 9 for 4 nights, this was okay as a base to visit family that live 20 minutes away but it is quite a dark lodge overcrowded by trees. The weather was bad whilst there and the trees were actually banging on our roof waking us up overnight. The hot tub area gets very leafy from the trees that overhang too. ||Wi-Fi in this lodge was practically non existent and there is no Netflix or other streaming services on the TV so not much to do in the evenings when we were at the lodge. ||Lodge is also quite a distance from the car parking spot which when you have a newly walking toddler and a dog is quite a pain, especially when unpacking and packing the car on arrival/departure.

If you suffer from backaches this place is not for you! The beds are not in good shape and I had being sleeping on the floor since a week ago. I requested a change of mattress but they don't care or take any illness seriously. The drier doesn't work and destroy your clothes. The heater in the bedrooms doesn't work properly. The only good thing of this place is the fact that you are surrounded by nature and perfect to be isolated from the world

Fantastic place to go on holiday.
We all loved the holiday, we had a private hot tube which we used everyday. It was well maintained, and was checked everyday.
They have a lovely mobile chip van that comes every Thursday. Plenty of choice on the menu, all cooked fresh to order.
Short walk to the local pub.
Bus stop outside the entrance to the retreat.
Lovely woodland walks.
Very quiet and peaceful, set in a woodland, with wildlife around.
