Strange experience. The hotel is in a great location next to the river. |The room was quite small and a bit dirty and dated with strong smell in the bathroom. |There was a fridge in the room but no milk. |Overpriced at £85 a night. |There is a restaurant on site and a Weatherspoons next door and a Sainsbury’s close by.

We celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary here. The staff are efficient and helpful from the moment you enter. The room was comfortable with a view over the canal. It is ideally situated and we were able to walk round the town easily. The food is delicious. We had an evening meal and breakfast. Both were enjoyed although we were 'stuffed' afterwards. I would definately recommend this hotel as we really enjoyed it.

We stayed for a weekend and what a lovely place. A very warm welcome from lady on reception, room was very clean and comfortable. Hot water at all times in the shower. The breakfast was delicious, mainly self service, but eggs are cooked to order, the scrambled are just perfect! All the staff seem very happy to be working there, and are so friendly and nice. Didn’t get a chance to eat at night as they were booked upto 9 both nights, but that’s says it all, must be excellent! Thank you for a lovely stay.

Excellent hotel. Warm welcome on arrival. All staff we met spoke and made us feel very welcome. We were at an event and the evening meal was wonderful, excellent service even though there were almost 100 of us. Room was comfortable and well equipped. Finished off by a top notch breakfast.

Visiting family and friends so stayed here a couple of nights. The hotel is clean, but the room was extremely small, although the bed was comfy. However we paid a reasonable price. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that. We ate in the restaurant on one evening with some friends. Although the food is OK, the waiting staff couldn't wait for us to go once we'd finished our meal, even though it was only around 9.30pm. They cleared everything off the table whilst we were sitting there and even blew out the candle on the table! So no tip for them.

Really friendly family run hotel in a converted mill. A pleasant change from the international chains. Very clean and comfortable. Highly recommended.
Restaurant had good menu well presented. It did get a bit noisy though - too many hard surfaces.

We stopped here again as we were attending a dance at the Ritz...( as we always call it). There was a large group of us...|My room was an exec and can i just say...ITS WORTH UPGRADING as the rooms are lovely and spacious.|On our arrival checkin was pleasant and efficient.|On this occasion we were only there 1 night but usually do weekends.|After our nights out dancing we came back and the night porter was very helpful getting our drinks in the bar...which was a nice night cap.|Beds in the exec rooms are very comfy so had a great sleep.|Breakfast the next day was buffet style. The bangers are superb...|So yes happy to recommend this hotel...|ps if staying bring £1 coins for adjacent car park which is| council run.. saves a lot of messing...|

This review relates to the Prego restaurant only as we did not stay at the hotel.
We chose this restaurant on a spur of the moment when visiting Brighouse. In a nutshell the place was superb. The atmosphere was brilliant with clearly a lot of regular customers being greeted by the owners. The menu was extensive with great options for all tastes and a fulsome number of specials available also.
The food came quickly and was one of the best Italian meals my wife and I have experienced.
I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone, it is family friendly with good service and great attention to detail, also great value for money.
