We had a fantastic week, everyone was so friendly and bent over backwards to make our holiday brilliant. Thanks to Tom and Gail, who run the fishing and accommodation. Thanks to Rob and John who run the pub, making us meals that were not on the menu and thanks to all the other staff for everything that they done for us….. we will be back

Found this place as somewhere that was equidistant for the group and open on a Monday. Lunchtime Basic pub with a restaurant part, friendly welcome and fantastic home cooked food in large quantities. The steak and kidney pie had a suet crust, so half pie half pudding, and was colossal. Nice pint of Butcome . Ham, egg n chips, scampi and veg lasagna also went down well. Very enjoyable and also dog friendly.

Perfect accommodation just what’s needed. 2 days fishing was great fun. Lovely staff, bar lady was lovely and even offered us a lift to another pub, owners really nice. Defo will return and try the food (we got too involved fishing and didn’t realise it was so late) thanks for lovely night away!

23rd year visiting this fantastic family run business. Refurbished rooms, quality home cooking with very reasonable prices for serious portions. The fishing is out of this world, and the bar / restraunt is a pace to enjoy yourself and meet new friends. Book here you'll love it.

Really friendly made to feel very welcome. Great food, great beer and even better banter. I called in again after my last review and ordered Steak and Kidney pie after hearing somone talking about it. Well it was incredible absolutely the best I have ever had tasty and huge serving. If you only eat one pie in your lifetime make it this one!

Just got back from a fantastic Sunday lunch at the Watersmeet. So much food and proper lunch with so many different items and it was the best we’ve had in ages. |We actually went in the week for lunch as well due to day off work. Had home made pie that was superb and again, so much of it.|Both meals were excellent taste and value

Plenty of parking straight of the main road leading to Hartpury University . Cosy Bar area but because it was a sunny day we chose to eat outside ( Sunday lunch ) . The staff are very friendly and attentive. The garden area is immaculate and has stunning views across a pond / lake . The lunches were amazing , we had every vegetable you could think of and loads of tenderly cooked beef ( but other meats available also ) plus other meals from the menu . The Hotel adjoined to the pub looked very nice .

Visited for Sunday lunch. Huge portions of lovely food and very attentive staff. Home cooking par excellence! Will visit again - perhaps one portion for 2 people as there is so much per portion! Definitely worth a visit.
