Site in a good location right on river unfortunately the toilet and shower block in disgusting state . Toilets have remnants of dried excrement, ( diarrhoea splashed inside another one )inside shower block in very bad state clearly no cleaner Has been in there for a long long time big health risk and high chance of spread of infection will not be recommending site to friends or family

First visit in 2019, lovely place, showers a bit dated but clean.|2021 new owners & showers no longer clean but site very handy for visiting our friends.|This year & dreadful. Shower block worse, spiders, webs, dead insects. Mirror never cleaned whilst there. Behind doors never cleaned. |Tourers put on riverside & its disgusting now. Canadian geese on the river & made this area theirs for overnight & its quite literally full of sh.. you can't put 1 foot in front of another. I had to clear a space in front of our steps so we wouldnt stand in it, yuck. Its like dogmuck off small dogs & it's everywhere. |You couldn't let children play or put up an awning.|No effort is made to clear it away or even keep the geese off. In fact there's no fence not just to keep the geese off but to keep children & dogs from falling into the river.|Its now a truly dirty, disgusting place.|Will not be there next year, will stay at another site.|

Nice site right on the river and practically in the town. The manager was very accommodating. People on the site were very friendly. Facilties clean, as in toilets, sinks, etc, but little things weren't so great like the fact that the soap was never refilled and the bin was nearly overflowing before being emptied. The washing up area wasn't very clean.

After reading all the negative reviews (which are all quite old) I was very surprised, Met at the gate by a lovely & friendly lady (the owner) the caretaker/groundsman escorted us to our pitch, The pitch we had was on grass but the view of the river was brilliant, the toilet/shower block was very clean and smelt nice, soap, sanitiser etc all available etc. After talking to the owners we found out the site is under new management now and they have made lots of improvements, to the extent we have already booked a second visit for later in the year. the town and shops are only a 5 minute walk away (well maybe 10 if you take it steady), lots of places to eat & drink. Only downside and it was not a biggie is there is no motor home service point to drop the grey water.

I love this site, love it. Been going for the last 6 or 7 years. Right on the weir. Always a friendly welcome, relaxing and clean and tidy. However, there are now new owners and I'm not too sure. They are no longer offering "static" caravans for hire and are "expanding and improving" the site but say they will continue to offer touring pitches.||Not advised before arrival that its now cash only and no recognition of all our previous visits. OK, they are new but they must have records. Also a somewhat blasé attitude to safety in reception (no screens or masks). Security gate broken and as the site is not in the best part of town, that was a worry. Grass longer than usual and cuttings not collected, hand dryer not working in the washrooms, not much sign of the washrooms being cleaned either and right now thats a massive.||However, the worse was hedge trimming at 3pm Friday afternoon right behind our caravan as we tried to sit outside but the absolute worse was hedge trimming with a noisy petrol trimmer at 8am on Saturday morning. Really.....||Shame, please don't spoil this beautiful site. As my title, I will give them the benefit of the doubt for now.

As a Family who have been coming to WMHP for many years, enjoying a static privately owned caravan sited on the river frontage. It is with sad heart to say goodbye to the site following our parents passing. Amlo Limited who took over the site have sought nothing more than to recoup profits in selling off all the rental vans; doing the bear bone minimum on site cleanliness and upkeep. Facilities are spider infested and unclean. Permanent residents have dogs and cats roaming free. If you have good memories of this site then stay away and keep them as such. The most dangerous sheer drop from the river bank footpath is something to stay well clear of. The site director is a man who has no customer service skills; his management and site upkeep is lacking any attractive qualities. There are better sites in the area. Avoid or be disappointed.

Lovely site, great touring pitches right on the river. Fishing good. Shower & toilet blocks are open , we went to use them a few times but used our caravan facilities instead. They were awful, dirty, old and horrible, need a good clean regularly which is definitely not happening... in the current situation this is a no no. No paper towels/ hand dryers, no hand gel, never any toilet roll. Need a lick of paint, very dated and shabby. cobwebs /spiders, leaves, grass. Really let the place down. Everyone we spoke to said the same, The previous owners kept it spotless. ||Lovely site if you use your own shower / toilet facilities..no water hook ups on pitches but a tap close by.
