We had Sunday dinner today and unfortunately it really wasn't good. Im hoping it was just an off day because the reviews of other people say the food is lovely, particularly the Sunday dinner. We had the normal sized Sunday dinner at 13.95 and the meat was nice but the Yorkshire pudding was frozen and had been cooked for far too long so it was tough when trying to cut into it. That said, the pub is very traditional which we liked and the owner seems lovely and friendly.

Room not to bad. Location is good.
Now the bad news. We had no hot water on the first morning we were there so was unable to have a shower.
Breakfast was not to bad. I had a fry up the first morning and scrambled egg on toast the second which were both quite nice. This is the first place I've been to that there was no orange juice in the morning for breakfast which for me is unacceptable as I always have it in the morning.

We went for Sunday lunch which was served in a large Yorkshire pudding. It was the worst Sunday lunch we had ever tasted. The presentation was terrible. Everything was piled up on the plate. I have never seen Yorkshire puddings like these before. They were completely flat like an omelette. I struggled to cut it. I think the chef used the wrong flour or ran out of eggs. I was very suprised a chef in Yorkshire cannot produce edible Yorkshire puddings.|Top tip to the chef: Buy Aunt Bessies puds from the Co op across the road.

Craig and his team made us feel very welcome. Everything was clean and fresh, the food and drink were delicious. Great value and Howden is lovely too.||For anyone looking for an excellent hotel, in a good location and great value, you must come here!

We decided to pop for a late lunch today after hearing great things. The food and service was excellent. The salt & pepper “real chips” were to die for! Finally Howden has a pub serving tasty, affordable “pub grub”! We will definitely be back!

I had the curry and it was fab. The staff are fab and the venue is fab and clean. a lovely place to come for lunch. such a wonderful pun. As I live in Howden and don't drive it is handy for me to get to. I love the quiz on a Tuesday as well with my friends.

Lunch here today was absolutely fantastic. From the initial friendly welcome and atmosphere to the lovely food we were served, 5*.|You must try the chips for definite!!!!|Something on the menu for everyone and not only did it look tasty, it didn't disappoint the taste buds.

Enjoyed our visit. Really lovely pint - I had the traditional bitter, snaith brewery. The food was also very good, perfectly cooked scampi and chips and garden peas. Service was prompt and very friendly. I would recommend trying this place.
